Luggage locks basically are just to keep honest people honest (I’ve had my luggage stolen in Orlando once). In the past I used to just zip-tie them to make sure the zippers didn’t come apart in handling. My current hard-side bag has a push in style tumbler lock built straight into it (harder to open if you just pop the zipper) but, yes, it’s not easy to secure luggage so it can’t be opened by someone relatively easily.
@therealjrn
At least the ones with the lock built into the side of the actual case make it a bit more difficult to open the bag if you just pop the zipper…
@mycya4me Worse, if tipped into pull-behind mode while trying to cross an uneven surface where the spinner mode is useless, the casters can wobble violently and flip the case. Spinner luggage only works well on flat, level, smooth paved surfaces. Anywhere else, it’s advisable to pick them up and carry them. Drag-behind works safely on a much wider range, and it’s now damn close to impossible to get.
I’m sticking with the carry-on and can travel two weeks with it using my grandmother’s advice: 1) always take more money and less clothes than you think you’ll need; 2) if you see something you really like, buy it no matter how much it costs; 3) never turn down an opportunity to use the bathroom

There appear to be two different luggage pieces in the photos. Which one is the one for sale?
@PooltoyWolf we had one image of the largest size in the mix – removed now. Thanks!
@troy No worries!
@troy i think there’s still one in there. Check the 2 open pics.
It looks like carry-on limits are ~22" average max
@hockeyham
Excellent point… These are definitely check bags.
@hockeyham came to say this
I wanted to pick one of these up but I am an always carry-on guy.
I already have a trunk on wheels.
@yakkoTDI rollerskating elephant?
@yakkoTDI but can it go across the Ocean?
@mycya4me @yakkoTDI yes, of course, on a jumbo jet!
@ergomeh is still chuckling to himself for that joke.
@ParadisePete What’s grey and has a trunk? A mouse going on vacation. What’s brown and has a trunk? A mouse coming back from vacation…
@ParadisePete Agh! Another Internet time waste: https://www.boyscouttrail.com/content/joke/elephant-1062.asp (sadly highly recommended…). All will be well as long as you don’t ask why ducks have webbed feet…
@ergomeh @mycya4me @yakkoTDI more like a Dumbo jet
@ergomeh @mycya4me @pakopako @yakkoTDI
/showme an elephant in rollerblades wearing a captain’s hat.
@ergomeh @ParadisePete That elephant joke list makes for a plethora of show me possibilities.
Security with backdoors is never secure. I haven’t looked but I assume that, with a minimum of effort, anyone can get access to the TSA locks.
@ergomeh Two different keys open the overwhelming majority of TSA locks and you can buy them from any place that sells lock stuff or 3D print them.
I just use regular locks. They’ll cut it off if they want to but then at least then you immediately know they went through your stuff to steal things.
@ergomeh It’s a zipper closure. Any pencil can open it.
@ergomeh @hchavers 7 different keys open all. Most are opened by 1. TSA locks are not for security in all honesty.

@brennyn @ergomeh the TSA also cut open their TSA approved locks
A ball point pen will open up most zippered luggage. The TSA lock is a nice feature tho

Most of these pieces of luggage
feature these SMALL wheels on a small shaft. That is the biggest point of failure.

Your price comparison is invalid - $136 will get you a Rose Gold suitcase from Amazon, but either Teal or Black will set you back $150.
@rpstrong
So this is actually an even better deal…

@pskemp2
Wise woman!
@pskemp2
/showme the last bathroom for the next 1000 miles.
@mediocrebot That’s ok, mediocrebot. At least you tried.
@cfg83 @mediocrebot But that is the actual bathroom - you stand behind the sign.
The punchline on the copywrite up was a gift that kept on giving.
