These always come up when I'm completely broke. Of course, I'm broke most of the time, so that's not surprising. I do kinda wish I could get one of these, though.
@mfladd I was thinking they might sell better if they offered different skins for Ollie. I might buy one if I could get a Campbell's soup skin. It would be delicious.
@mfladd hehe yes , yes I am of course my kids thought I was old before I was old ( no goats here .. Awww just "kid"ding".). Too "young" to retire though :)
@thismyusername. Well smart phone or tablet/ipod. The app can be run by anything that runs wifi and apps. In a pinch im sure an old retired smart phone would work, hopefully I am not the only person with random old tech sitting around drawers of my home.
@thismyusername Yep they have each had either an old iPhone, iPod touch or iPad since they were about 3. They play a lot of Minecraft and Clash of Clans.
nutritious-green-bandicoot. In for 2. My 11 year old tried a display out of this and the Parrot mini drone sumo insect (two wheeled robotic with a camera that can jump) he loved it. Apparently, the school library has a Sphero the kids can play with... so my kids are familiar with the line.
Hopefully I can resist the urge to pull them out before Christmas. No promises.
I can't believe they haven't sold more of these. I have wanted one desperately ever since they gave them in the birthday fukus to everyone except me. I snagged a Sphero with nubby for $80 (found a mall gift card I had forgotten about), but Ollies never get this cheap. Your kids will play with the outside, people- out in the fresh air! My kids can borrow mine. perennial-vivid-scorpion
I got two for presents BUT I find it really odd that this toy has been out for over a year and Sphero has not expanded on the controls whereas there are multiple official apps for the spheres that expand functionality. Many are requesting tank controls (control each wheel separately) but for some reason they are 100% against that.
FYI, these are still 100 ish at Best Buy, they had a table set up demoing these and the Sphero 2.0, BB8, Ollie and a few Parrot minidrone offerings as well, I nearly bit for a recent birthday because my 11 year old loved it, but I remembered seeing Sphero here before and hoped it or similar would come up again. It would be nice to be able to set an alert for a missed product if it reappears or perhaps by category. I know it's shameful, but I occasionally forget to check Meh. insert self flagellation

meh
@yugrudfooz Absolutely!
Meh. Not shaped like a Star Wars droid...
@marvelljones well it's kind of like and R2 unit on its side... After electrocution? You could always get creative with some blue and red sharpies...
@mehdaf The same company has a Star Wars droid that is much cooler that costs $150 http://store.sphero.com/products/bb-8-by-sphero
@cmrk3 Just posting this here in case you missed it.
@cmrk3 I wrote that one off when they said that pet hair gets stuck in the wheels of the head. I have a fluffy dog.
Get a bit more creative with the buying, same stuff.
I got a Sphero in one of my Fuku bags and love it. They have a lot of personality. It's really surprising.
I believe I was the first to find this simply meh...
The price is right for me, but I want a sphero instead for my fuku nubby
The most fun you can have under $50? Depends on what area of town you live in....
@wyk3d Hey, Baby! You want my Ollie in your Fuku?!!
I laughed so hard at the WALL-E AND OLLIE poster that I got a cramp.
@mfladd
These always come up when I'm completely broke. Of course, I'm broke most of the time, so that's not surprising. I do kinda wish I could get one of these, though.
@Pony I wish for all our sakes, the opposite was true, in that you were not broke, and these didn't come up anymore...
@Pony Up
Couldn't I just take a can of soup and roll it down my driveway? 😒 Meh.
@Kerig3 only if it is the Star War version...
which this deal should have been.
@mfladd I was thinking they might sell better if they offered different skins for Ollie. I might buy one if I could get a Campbell's soup skin. It would be delicious.
@irtravis We would need one that's a log skin, so I can roll it down the stairs.
Still just as meh as last time.
Does anyone know if this will hold up to wet conditions? I'm in the PNW and I'm not sure if this will last for my son.
@ofrory I wouldn't hesitate to use my Sphero+nubby on a damp driveway, but it's not built for rain and puddles.
@ofrory They claim to be water resistant- the Sphero can swim in a pool, but not the Ollie.
Mount a couple of these on a skateboard for a poor man's hoverboard, yes?
@RedOak No, you make a poor man's hover board the same way you make a normal hover board, except you indefinitely borrow the shopvac from a friend.
I kinda want it "for the cats", but they were not even a little impressed with the Sphero. :/
@whogots trail a feather or something behind it maybe?
Ollie 'oops' .. In case u bought one..
@AttyVette You must be old like me :)
@mfladd hehe yes , yes I am of course my kids thought I was old before I was old ( no goats here .. Awww just "kid"ding".). Too "young" to retire though :)
@AttyVette So what's your platform going to be when you're goat next month?
Race around and buy one-- " charge " on meher's!
Hmm. I have two nephews ages 7 and 8...dare I buy one for each of them? Is $48 too much for a Christmas present when I'm going broke? Hmm.
@Zypher do they have smart phones? cause if they don't they might be disapoint.
@Zypher I think your nephews would probably have a ton of fun with them. When I was that age I was having a blast with my R/C trucks. :)
@jbartus True, and these are about the same price as good RC trucks.
@jbartus I still might have a lot of fun with them!
@jaremelz I'm on the fence considering it too. Who says toys are just for kids?
@jbartus I probably use my kid's drone more than he does. Toys for everyone!
@jaremelz Yeah well you've gotta do something while the Patriots are running riot on your teams :P
I pulled the trigger on an Ollie ^^
@jbartus She is a Seahawks fan..so sad.
@mfladd She's not a fan period. Of the football or of you, you little cunne.
@jaremelz Are you so ashamed of your team you can't fess up? I know better. Also you said she is not a fan - wtf? Do you have split personalities now?
@mfladd Go choke on Brady's sprinkles covered dick
@jaremelz I think you meant to say jimmies.
@jbartus SOB. I was at my work event too long and missed it :( Hopefully they'll pop up again before Christmas!
@Zypher Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. :(

@Serafyna Well, you gotta charge it b4 Xmas anyways...
@irtravis Valid excuse for the hubby and I to hold late night races. We're testing them out, right? ;)

@sammydog01 It's probably because they've sold them at least once before...
@Zypher I think it cost a lot more then. I'm glad I waited.
mouse wheel..aww you dirty "rats"
In for two! My kids have been insanely jealous of the sphero I got in the birthday Fuku.
Ok, so here goes. Could this be the best cat toy ever? we will see. High hopes
There has to be $48 bucks worth of parts in this to take apart and make something useful....
Must... resist... I'm not going to use it... I'm not going to use it..
@darksaber99999 You bought one, didn't you?
@sammydog01 see below

I already got the sphero BB8 for christmas, this will give the other 2 kids something to play with while waiting their turns.
This has been on my christmas list for a while. Not it's on it's way. Thanks meh.
Well, I just "meh'ed" for the first time. I feel so...ollied.
I got two for presents BUT I find it really odd that this toy has been out for over a year and Sphero has not expanded on the controls whereas there are multiple official apps for the spheres that expand functionality. I'm resisting the urge to buy something I don't really need with money I really shouldn't spend.
Adulting blows.
@jaremelz Paraphrasing George Carlin, you mean buying shit you don't need with money you don't have.
It's the American way!
Got 2 of these for my kids and they both love them. Can't beat the $48 price! Thanks, meh, for making our mediocre Christmas dreams come true.
