@OnionSoup@phendrick@tinamarie1974@werehatrack I’m really confused by this and whether it’s misogynist or not. But with the discussion of bears it seems an introduction of cougars may be in order.
Knowing what a “bear bar” is down in the festive neighborhood, I can understand why they’d have a “ladies’ night” that was no bargain. That would never have been my kind of dive even back when I might nominally have been somewhat welcome. I’m certainly not going to seek one out now.
@OnionSoup@phendrick Back in Usenet days on one of the punnish usegroups, I vaguely recall a horrible shaggy dog about “the bear that made Milwaukee flame us.” I think it’s probably good that I can’t remember the tale itself
Great place to go and dance to Nickelback while sipping on a warm Zima or Boone’s Farm.
@OnionSoup On Tuesday nights, they have the saxophone player from the local high school band doing covers of Kenny G stuff.
@werehatrack Wednesdays are ladies nights. Women pay double that night.
@OnionSoup @werehatrack I went to a bear bar once where womens cover was something like 3x what the men paid.
@OnionSoup @tinamarie1974 @werehatrack Seems the bears would be happy to pay the cover charge for women, at least for the nice plump ones.
@tinamarie1974 @werehatrack if there is cocaine at a bear bar do they become cocaine bears?
@OnionSoup @phendrick @werehatrack well, my bears paid for me
And no comment on my plumpness or lack thereof
@OnionSoup @werehatrack ooohhhh is that like if a in the woods and no one is there to see it, then did it really happen?
@OnionSoup @tinamarie1974 @werehatrack Were those the bears that made Milwaukee famous? Did they try to make you famous also?
@OnionSoup @phendrick @werehatrack huh?

@werehatrack yup, it clearly made sense. But like I said, the ’s I was out with wanted to go, so I agreed. Give and take.
@phendrick Methinks you might misapprehend what the crowd in a bear bar is.
@phendrick @werehatrack I believe it was a joke. That’s how I took the comment anyway.
Beer and bear similar spelling. Milwaukee famous for beers. “Schlitz, the best that made Milwaukee famous” slogan, etc.

@OnionSoup @phendrick @werehatrack oioh. Thanks for the explination there OnionSoup. I was super lost.
