@PurplePawprints thats my fear. Found first pillow that I can sleep on without neck pain in 15 years. Its an odd as hell filling used on the pillow with only 1 company making anything like it. If they eliminate it I’m screwed. Can’t really buy a lifetime supply of them so hoping for the best!
@DVDBZN $60 each so cost would be high, storage space an issue to hold that many and can you really store pillows for 35-55 years? If I was “retirement age” I would gladly buy a few to be safe. Doubt that works as well when I’m long from it. I did purchase 2 additional when I saw a good sale a bit back, tho one was hijacked by my girlfriend.
@m33rkat The Aeration pillow by Malouf. Its called a buckwheat alternative pillow; its filling is polyethylene tubes, almost feels like small pieces of cut up drinking straws but made of stiffer plastic. It’s a little squishy/movement prone at first but once settles in after a week or 2 can form it to shape prefer and is very supportive without being a total rock like standard buckwheat pillows tend to be. I bought it almost as a joke and when tried it was kinda laughing at its ability to shape/form when it then occurred to me that I’d been laying on it for an hour and my neck didn’t hurt. Been sleeping on it ever since.
@m33rkat Have you tried a gel pillow? If you like a firm but yeilding sleep surface they are great. If you are a soft pillow person you wouldn’t like it at all. I like really firm pillows, at hotels I stuff two pillows into one case to firm them up, and sometimes slide a magazine in there for a smooth firm top. I tried a lot of different pillows and the one I liked before this one was one of those contour memory foam pillows turned upside down so it was wedge shaped, with the wider end toward me. I have a bad habit of tilting my head back quite far in my sleep, resulting in morning neck and shoulder pain. Having a steep slope away from me on the foam pillow put gravity on the side of keeping my head in a straighter position in my sleep.
This looks so comfortable, but I toss and turn too much for it. Love to give it a try, though.
@moondrake The arm underneath the pillow seems to be thicker, at least six inches longer than the other, and belongs to a man which I don’t think the woman shown is but I could be wrong.
I have one of those gel pillows with the cool patch. Super firm, which I like, and the cool patch is great. My only complaint is that it is very heavy. When I toss and turn, it often wakes me up because it’s so hard to move it.
I like a nice combo of scrunchy pillows and fluffy pillows.
Any decent pillows will do. I like lots.
My biggest complaint about my pillows is that I am currently unable to nearly spend as much time with them, either lying down or propped up, as I would prefer.
I’m sure they miss me as much as I miss them, when we’re separated from each other. It’s quite painful.
@RiotDemon I like it to be pitch black and silent when I’m sleeping. I took care of silent by buying the gf wireless headphones as she’s up half the night watching tv. (She works overnight so that’s her regular sleep pattern.) Took care of pitch black by recently buying a sleep mask. No idea what took me so long to do so but it’s a fucking godsend. I usually sleep late on the weekends and the bedroom is way too bright, even with the sun blocking shade. Bright no more!
@cinoclav I can normally sleep with the sun… Unfortunately I had to get up after only two hours of sleep, and my body was thrown off because it was dark when I went to bed, and sunny when I woke up. So I think my sleep clock reset itself for the day. I did manage to go back to sleep after an hour or so, and then someone rang my doorbell… So there went that.
@f00l I love how the models are valiantly trying - and utterly failing- to make these things look macho and sexy. Yeah, this Batman snuggie is badass. Seriously. Badass. Why are you laughing?
I thought the models were trying to make themselves in those outfits look “pretend macho”, while actually looking silly and fun and “game for more fun”.
I can imagine that “undressing” might be the goal here. ; )
@f00l thanks, I like the pillow case on the right. @moondrake I assure you, if you go to one of those comic conventions, 100%, possibly 101%, would agree both models succeeded.
No bluetooth

My number one complaint? I bought them from Meh.
@Barney You mean those bamboo
pillowsbricks?@narfcake Yep. My worst purchase here.
@Barney @narfcake
If you use them for their intended purpose, holding back floodwaters, they are satisfactory.
My new one came from Walmart. I love it.
No complaints. I have one tempurpedic pillow and one “My Pillow.” Together they meet any sleeping head support need.
My only complaint is that it’s not being sold anymore so I can’t replace it.

@Raider What pillow is it? My search for a good pillow continues to this day.
After all, if more of us buy it it’s more likely to stick around, right?

Here is a link, but can be found elsewhere like Amazon and Walmart.

@moondrake the arm under the pillow does not belong to the person on top of the pillow…right?
@elimanningface Yes…
@moondrake The arm underneath the pillow seems to be thicker, at least six inches longer than the other, and belongs to a man which I don’t think the woman shown is but I could be wrong.
@elimanningface Manhands
I have feathers coming out of it and it’s only six months old. And has a pillow cover. And a pillow case. And they scratch.
Shirt pile. It works well enough, if somewhat expensive otherwise since most are AA shirts.
@narfcake is your mattress a pile of shirts also?
@narfcake
Do you also wear pillowcases?
@RiotDemon Nope. Ikea.
@DVDBZN Pillowcase, potato sack, a Gildan shirt … they’re all about the same, right?
@narfcake
I love this.
How do AA shirts as pillows compare to non-AA shirts?
@f00l The Next Level shirt blanks that are used at TeeTurtle and the older Design by Humans are even softer. I don’t have as many, however.
Granted, “many” is relative. My shirt.woot collection is as big as it is because over half was via the secondary market.

mine’s just too old and lumpy
@spitfire6006006
Mine too.
Oh wait, I thought we were talking about significant others.
not enough of them

@f00l what are you still doing awake? This is the time of the crazies.
@Pantheist shh, don’t tell everyone the secret!
@RiotDemon I’m going to watch the sun rise! Sunrise? Sun rise I think. It’s a thing that I’m watching rise.
@Pantheist hope you had fun. The damn sun is keeping me from sleeping, lol
@RiotDemon It was pretty

Hey, I’m the prototype crazy.

@RiotDemon
@Panthiest
I quite like simply refusing to go to sleep and indulging myself with whatever (usually whatever I’m reading).
Sometimes it don’t like that I did that so much a few hours later when I must function.
But usually I’m defiant. Staying up past all hours (while completely sober, not partying), is one of life’s greatest joys.
You say you can’t sleep? I’ll put some chloroform on your pillow.
@TheCO2 that is not creepy or disturbing.
@elimanningface That’s what I was going for.
i’d like to get pillow cases with zippers. I have a problem with undressing my pillows during the night.
@elimanningface
/image zipper pillow case
@elimanningface If you use standard size pillows, buy king sized pillow cases and tuck them in. It really helps your problem.
http://makelyhome.com/how-to-fit-a-king-pillowcase-on-a-standard-pillow/
@elimanningface They have queen sized zippered cases at Walmart for $2.78. I use one on my body pillow.
@elimanningface
These sorts of full-sized zippered pillows are usually a bit easier to undress at night.
I presume that’s the goal …

They’re covered in cat hair.
@medz That’s why I prefer catshirts to cats. No shedding and no hairballs.
I have no complaints. Linen cover over buckwheat hull pillow = heaven.
