Mama always told me not to look into the eyes of the sun -
But mama, that’s where the fun is!

What?
I mean #whatthismustneedthecontextofthestory? (WTMNCS)
ETA story link
ETAAgain I guess your poll needs to be taken before reading the story or it breaks things. Sorry. Interesting, though.
@djslack thanks for passing out the answer test sheet (test answer sheet)
What does ETA mean in this context?
I did listen to the story again, so seriously, thanks
@Yoda_Daenerys Edited to Add (always helpful if your first message omitted the Estimated Time of Arrival).
Emoticons (emojis)? are why we can’t have nice things…
I didn’t try to figure any of it out. No context. All apparently really really long hashtags - or is that really long really hashtags?
Not gonna sound out a whole lotta letters strung together without breaks -even if those letters might form words - without some serious incentives.

This looks more like a test for “are you a robot”.
none of the above? i don’t understand what any of them are describing.
@katylava @fOO1 @f001 @f00L @f00l
so, one is describing a white, higher income person looking for a room to rent in a lower income, minority housing market experiencing reverse discrimination, who happens to have a sense of humor
A) Funny Racialbiast Lithmustest Roommate (FRL)
the other is describing this:

You win.
Did I get them in the right order that native speakers of the language would use?
/giphy you win
@cmafba perfect! wow, how did i miss that as a kid? obviously written by a 70’s feminist
@ribzer i like it, i especially like the bits about “not always” and ways to “subvert it”, it seems to have different categories than the NPR story referenced above
@Yoda_Daenerys Age and shape are switched between the two. I’m not 100% sure which one is right, since I’m supposed to go with whichever one “feels” better.
@ribzer
@Yoda_Daenerys
And why not a Big Red Balloon, starting today?

@f00l Adjective order is so ingrained that you forgot to get it backwards.
@ribzer

Among my work-related tasks is helping decide industry standard names for components (where such standards are legislated). The general guidance is you start with the more general part and get more specific as you tack modifiers on to the end. Drawback of this is if you only have a small space, the specifically identifying part often gets truncated. (So you get a list of a bunch of the same looking things.) P.S. The opposite of “outlet” is “intake” – not “inlet” (which is a body of water).
@walarney
That job sounds a bit fascinating. Is it?
