Iced coffee is nice and all, but 4 shots of espresso in a large cup over ice and mix in one of those premier protein drinks you get at Costco when they are on sale and you have yourself a damn fine breakfast.
@Evansdoor that depends on where you are in the US. if you order a regular iced coffee here in new england from dunkin donuts (where most people get their ice coffee), it will come loaded with cream and sugar.
I said I don’t coffee of any kind, but that’s only mostly true. I’m a pretty big fan of coffee when it’s in beer. Coffee cream ales aka white stouts are awesome when done well.
I thought I’d be in the minority voting for the “Coffee sux” option, but apparently not!
Given my anecdotal evidence, I’m the only person in the world that doesn’t drink coffee of some sort (although I do agree with Oneroundrobb - coffee beer is great)
no coffee of any kind for me, but i was born and raised in rhode island and now live in boston - i am an anomaly. everyone else drinks ice coffee year round.
I drink hot coffee year round in my office because my office is always cold. Sometimes I drink iced coffee on hot days when I’m not working but generally I don’t drink coffee outside of work. I never used to be a coffee person and I switch between coffee and tea. My office is also very dry so I go through a lot of beverages - water, coffee, tea, some soda, flavoured water, etc
Sometimes I put an ice cube in a cup of coffee so that I can drink it faster. But I think you’re referring to beverages correctly identified as milkshakes and slushies.
I remember as a kid, my mom having to patiently explain to waitpersons how to provide her with iced coffee.
“Just bring me a cup of coffee and a glass of ice.”
It used to be a thing in the fifties. Iced coffee like iced tea. Sweet or not, maybe milk. It came back in recent years (decades?) as a slushie, but at least she doesn’t get the blank stares she once did.
I must admit, I gotta try it out again.
I Usually drink hot coffee . I make special batches of hot coffee that my friends call B’s DA BOMB COFFEE! I DONT LIKE most of the frozen WAY TOO MUCH SUGAR Frozen coffees made by anyone. Nauseatingly too sweet. I make my iced coffee like this - my brewed CDM or Espresso coffee. I mix coffeemate, Splenda, some Decaffeinated sugar free french vanilla instant coffee, 1/2 & 1/2 (no carbs in 1/2 & 1/2! Then I take about 10 ice cubes in my hand blender, pour a small amount of my special brewed/doctored up coffee over it. Zap it until all ice cubes are pulverized, keep adding coffee zap more until it’s like a frozen milkshake. Then put into a tall soda fountain glass. Top with whipped cream! Almost no calories or carbs & no sugar!
My fiance’ loved this in hot Las Vegas weather!
I never stopped, lol! I drink hot coffee at home but when out an about I always get an iced breve, nothing added. Just delicious espresso and half and half.

@show_the_maw Still counts as iced coffee. Just very… adulterated.
US iced coffee: just black coffee and ice - no!
Iced coffee: black coffee, ice cream and ice to make it smooth and cold - yes.
And I love espresso so I do like coffee.

@Evansdoor When my friend owned her coffee shop she made ice cubes out of coffee so your iced coffee did not get watered down.
She also had an option to use ice cream.
As a kid, I invented Iced Coffee. It’s a shame that I was too young to think of other people.
@hchavers You must be oollld.
I don’t really correlate my beverage temperatures with weather temperatures.
Hot always in the morning, later, whatever floats my boats
/youtube i will survive
@Cerridwyn
In general I could have skipped disco; excepting this song. I do love this song.

@norb coffee and fruit don’t belong in beer. Beer should taste like grain and hops - liquid bread
Cliff Clavin’s theories on correlation between beverage temperature and outside temperature.

I don’t normally drink a lot of coffee. Coca-Cola is my typical caffeine supplement of choice. Always cold.
Does anyone else remember " drink Dr. Pepper … 10…2 … & … ( what was the last number ? ) …
@newby1 4

Chai lattes maybe? That’s not really coffee though, but it’s pretty durn tasty.
Nope. Cold coffee is coffee that needs to be heated or poured down the drain. And candy coffee is not coffee, it’s coffee-flavored candy dink.

A fresh double (or triple) espresso UNDER ice is very nice when it’s hot outside…
(Never order your espresso “over ice”. It gets way too watered down, instantly. Before the cup is even in your hands.)
