Not aimed to take attention or revenue away from meh BUT...

One of my favorite shopping sites, www.moosejaw.com (which happens to have a fun and snarky copywriter or two) has a fuku-type event going on. So, here's my question:

You bet on the Chargers this past week and lost, you bet on The Royals and got nothing. Would you drop $99 on a box like this, just for the fun of it?

You aren't even buying the box. You are just spending $99 at their site. So at the very least you get the thing you bought plus something "worth" $100. Seems like a pretty cool idea. If anyone does this, come back and let us know.

- @chellemonkey I agree with you. It's not like you're just spending the money and hoping for something good. It's more like a bonus if you are planning on buying something anyway. Although, If I had $85 in my cart, I might be convinced to add $14 more just to get the mystery box.

- @Moose Did you get a confirmation for 1-3weeks? When I looked it says "Please allow 6-8 weeks or more for delivery, as our curation process can not be hurried." For 3 weeks I would be willing to wait, after Christmas, not so much.

A:Depends. If I were already shopping there, it wouldn't take much to spend that amount.{Most of their stuff is overpriced outdoor clothing and gear -- I've been to the site before} Like @cengland0 , I would probably add something extra in my cart to get it, if I were very close to the total. But, I wouldn't just shop/ buy something for the bonus only.

- @ceagee Well outdoor clothing and some of the gear the markup is pretty high (for example - $100 item, wholesale is $40) so what they were doing is put two items on 1/2 off sale, will make 10% on each while at the same time getting rid of low inventory stuff. As a result I'd only be interested, since essentially it $1, if and only if I actually needed $100 worth of stuff from them that I would have bought anyway, even without this "deal".
