No see um’s, how to stop itching?
2I got eaten alive at a stupid waterfront restaurant in ponce inlet on my vacation and the itching is out of control. I know they say not to scratch but it itch’s so insanely bad. Anybody (that live around these stupid bugs all the time) have any home remedies to stop the itching??? I would love the help.

I swear by this stuff for any big bites or ivy rashes
Tecnu Rash Relief Spray | Maximum Strength Anti-Itch Spray | Relieves Pain and Itching of Insect Bites, Minor Burns, Sunburn, Minor Cuts and more | 6 Ounce Bottle https://a.co/d/2yPymHV
I’ve tried many topical treatments for insect bites with limited success, but what’s worked best for me is actually ice packs. Even when I’m itching so bad I can’t sleep, ice packs are the only thing that helps to numb the skin so I can sleep.
Hydrocortisone cream (Cortaid 10) can be very helpful. The stuff that @tinamarie1974 mentioned above is basically a Benadryl spray. If you don’t want to wait for delivery, and can’t find the specific product locally, you can just get a Benadryl (or diphenhydramine) cream from your local pharmacy.

I was going to suggest Benadryl, not the spray but the pill. 30-40 minute wait is better than waiting for itch to get better on it’s own.
@Lynnerizer @shahnm @Star2236 Yes, oral Benadryl/ diphenhydramine was my first thought, too. I’ve heard the topical version isn’t usually that effective, & if nothing else, the oral version might help with sleep, at least. Good luck!

I tried everything and nothing worked I was itching like crazy and it was driving me nuts. My boyfriend suggested rubbing gasoline on them but I’m not that stupid. I found these itch relief patches and it’s the only thing that’s worked. I’m actually kinda surprised it did bc there just dumb little patch’s but they’ve been a godsend. https://naturalpatch.com/pages/magicpatch
@ircon96 @Lynnerizer @Star2236 I’m just glad to hear you’re feeling better, whatever it was that did the trick!
@ircon96 @Lynnerizer @Star2236 BTW your boyfriend it right. If you douse your itchy skin with gasoline and light a match, you will definitely no longer have to worry about being itchy.
@ircon96 @Lynnerizer @shahnm
He didn’t say light the match (but I get what your saying lol). He just said to rub gasoline all over the itchy skin.
@Lynnerizer @shahnm @Star2236 Btw, you wouldn’t even need to light a match yourself, just be near an open flame, a spark, or even static electricity & the fumes would instantly create a memorable light show!
I hope you don’t let the ball & chain play with sharp objects, etc. And you might want to get those little plug covers for your electrical outlets while your at it.
I think I’m weird, I use hot sauce on itchy bites. Or just hot hit water . Good luck, it is the worst!
@ChompyGator Hot sauce, huh - I’ll have to try that sometime!
@ChompyGator @Kyeh Yeah, with a name like chompy gator, it makes sense that he’d want to push this idea so that potential snacks (us) would be well-seasoned!

You know, some creams for arthritis and soreness contain capsaicin, which is – hot peppers! 🌶 So it makes sense, really.
