I’m getting in double-pay overtime so far (too much work, not enough time)…Then I have to go home & deal with a furnace that seems to think it wants to work, only when it wants to. It was down to about 64 degrees in the house this morning, and it’s going to be much colder (-20s) throughout this upcoming week…Hoping to make a big pot of white chicken chili this afternoon too. If all goes ok, I’ll probably check in on the big game, but if I don’t see a minute, it really won’t hurt my feelings.
Wait… That’s today ?
Got home at 2:00 a.m. after 9 days in Costa Rica. Planning to unpack, start some laundry perhaps and get things ready for company coming in 2 days. Plenty of stuff to do that doesn’t involve watching the Super Bowl.
@chienfou vacation or work?
I recently retired but a few years ago my company set up a remote development office in Costa Rica. I never got to go there but was surprised how many people were arranging 2-week “training” trips to Costa Rica. I did some training for them but it was all online.
@pmarin
Was there years ago (2010)and had a blast. Went with another couple on vacay this time. We did 3 days near la fortuna (rain forest), 3 on the beach (guanacaste), and one in Monteverde (cloud forest). Bookmarked with a day on each end in san jose. Was shocked at the way prices had blown up on a lot of things. Had fun and would gladly go back.
Cleared the snow from the driveway and sidewalk and enough to get my car out. Now it’s time for a nap then I’ll play around with my espresso machine and the bluetooth-connected flow rate monitor and bluetooth-connected scale to fine tune everything for an optimal espresso using a graphing and measuring app on my phone. Yeah, I’m a coffee geek.
@Cerridwyn@pmarin First, I meant to say pressure monitor, not flow rate monitor (the scale and the app do that). Anyway, here’s a photo of the setup and a graph from the app to show what it tells you. The top line on the graph is the pressure, the line below it is the flow rate.
@Cerridwyn If you trim the excesss fat from a brisket, cut it into 3/4" cubes, and fry them until they are 3/8" cubes, you have real Mexican chicharrones; crisp shell, succulent center. You may want to salt them lightly, or otherwise season to taste.
Waiting for the dentist to open tomorrow continuing my pudding, ice cream and soup diet bc I can’t eat anything. I really hope they don’t have to pull my tooth.
I could really use some extra sleep today.
Massage in the morning. Waste the day away. Decide between Team Mongolian Beef and Team Sichuan Chicken tonight when all the restaurants are empty.
Everything I had already planned when I found out last night that sportsball season wasn’t over yet.
I’m visiting my best friend for his and his daughter’s birthdays. We’re going out to breakfast then going axe throwing.
@SSteve you win

@Star2236 - This past January I had a root canal, a new cap, and three fillings, so - best wishes!

I’m watching Godzilla Final Wars. Gigan just got his head blown off.
@sammydog01 Spoilers!
@jouest He’s an outer space cyborg, maybe his head regenerated. I’m not saying.
