@ruouttaurmind yeah it's nuts and over kill for small quads like the phantoms. Even with my mods i couldn't get more than 20 minutes on my p1 and even with max speed and top props i don't think I'd get close to 20 miles out from where I fly...oh wait I'm 24 miles away i don't think i'd make 4 miles in 20 minutes let alone 24 miles without upgrading it to a hexacopter and modding a 6s battery.
@DJMajickMan Thank you for that... Apparently the no fly zone for the airport that's down the road covers 5 towns... (almost the whole county) I'm glad I saw this before buying a drone I couldn't legally use within my whole town (or the 2 towns near by... It really does seem to be a large no fly zone for this small airport...)

Based on the map in your link, two of my city's designated RC fly parks are within a no-fly zone.
Gotta love the bureaucracy.
Is it no fly PERIOD? not even below... 50ft? nothing? Hmmm, I can't fly over Area 51?? :(
