@flipping_things I've had this argument many times. You say tax refunds are a loan to the government. I say tax refunds are a loan to myself. It allows me to have a chunk of money every year to get something big that I would otherwise not have because I lack the discipline to save it.
@phatmass This is what I say as well. I know that the extra $20 a week wouldn't get saved so it's kinda nice getting a chunk all at once. As my savings account isn't really making interest anyway, the difference is minimal.
@flipping_things Back in the days when savings accounts were paid double-digit interest, this was a big deal. Now a days, with 1-2%, meh. Better than owning and paying penalties.
@phatmass I too have had this discussion many times. If this is the only way for you to save and that works for you, then cool. I just put this out there so some people will look into and maybe save on their own. I'm no financial advisor, but if you could save that $20/week and put it in an Vangaurd index fund it'll do you better in the long run than letting the govt mooch off you 1 year at a time. Withholding is automatic for a reason - people don't save enough to pay their taxes annually. So they take it every pay check and settle in Apr. One more thing, depending on how you save that $20/wk it could lead to more tax savings and potentially a refund even after saving all year. A little research can go a long way to helping motivate you to save. And you don't have to be a rich guy to get smarter about your money. Just trying to help.
@axleman1011 i assumed your post was sarcastic. so i responded in kind. blending things does not affect the nutritional content of anything unless you blend it lomg enough to cook it which my blendtec is capable of.
Meh. I'm hoping something cheaper or more what I'm looking for. Hopefully something good that fits what I'm looking for comes up soon. Im having a lot of fun with the built ny stuff. I wish I had gotten more now. That or something more technical. I'd love to see a good NAS up :). While the dry spell on buying is making the wife happy!
Ah, that bloody Amazon review. The Ninja's revenge...!
The experts in ninjitsu tell you that right-mindedness was a prime element of their training. If you're going to buy this, make certain that you are right-minded...which keeps me from buying it.
@Cinoclav i really did come here for speaker docks. i thought "it's friday. maybe i'll buy the speaker dock this time." But no. I already have a blendtec, so I actually would have preferred a speaker dock today.
Too bad that jelly bean smoothie picture was photoshopped. The ice it's exactly the same I'm the strawberry photo and the jelly bean one. I wanted to know if it could really make a jelly bean smoothie, maybe even a skittles smoothie, but now I'll never know.
@juststephen Plus you can even see blueberries in the bottom froth. It seems it would actually be more difficult to photoshop that picture than to actually do it. I'd suggest a adding a little vodka to help the process along.
@Cinoclav Here's the two images next to each other. You can clearly see the ice is the same. It couldn't be unless it was photoshopped. Ice melts and doesn't form the exact same way twice.
@Cinoclav I misread you. When I read it seemed it would be easier to do it than to Photoshop it, I assumed you meant it wasn't. At any rate, have a great night.
That review gave me a great idea -- I say buy it for an enemy and sit back and let the blender slowly murder them one smoothie-induced cut at a time. For $100 it may seem a bit costly, but those cheaper blenders very rarely murder anyone so you get what you pay for with a Ninja. And frankly if you can't afford $100 to take out your arch nemesis, then I question your commitment to murder.
I was going to buy this and got the Ultima instead and if I didnt already have this and one of the 900 watt Ninjas I would get this. The price is great and the product is amazing!
So how does this stand up to a Vitamix or Blendtec? You know someone had to ask. I want a Blendtec but is this worthy at a fraction of the price? Mainly want for smoothies.
@Stallion Blendtec is better... but.... for the price the Ninjas are fine blenders. I have a BL700 from a couple years back and it's still kicking. The blades are multiple decks high which makes it blend evenly when you have it full.
@thismyusername I'm skimming Amazon reviews and it seems like people say smoothies arnt as smooth and it doesn't do a good job of blending nuts or hard stuff. What do you mainly use yours for? I don't need it for dough or anything like that. Mostly blending and smoothies. At $100 it seems like it might be worth the risk.
@Stallion I generally blend sauces with it, and the occasional crushed ice adult beverage ;) I really want a blendtec myself but can't see payin that price. I did see them on sale at some warehouse store but I didn't grab it... sorta wish I did.. went back next day and they were gone. Here is what you need http://www.amazon.com/Blendtec-Professional-Blender-WildSide-FourSide/dp/B001F5PK18 nice machines but damn.
@username "The 3 cup bowl in bowl is specially designed to nest perfectly in the larger bowl during use with a tight seal trim to prevent leakage and is ideal for anything from meal prep to final touches."
Hmmmm. In this instance I'm not so sure about a refurb unit. I mean, I surf the internet and I've seen some of the seriously perverted and grossly disgusting things that people use their blenders for. The risk of cross contamination has frightened me away, and the prospect of possibly churning up my margarita in a vessel that once contained a scat smoothie has me skieved to the point of dry retching.
If you already bought one just soak it in bleach for a month or two before first use and try not to think about what the original owner might have used it for.
And while the workers at the refurb facility are probably low paid, unskilled labor, I'm sure they probably toss the really foul smelling returned units in the dumpster. Right? I mean, they probably do. Don't you think?
@eyewerks They normally refurbish the bases / motors and strip the blades from the pitchers if possible then toss the pitchers, then they sterilize the blades (in a heated chemical autoclave) and affix to new pitchers and send it out. At least that is the process they followed for a different brand blender I purchased refurbished.
Meh. Almost bought a Ninja last week but decided I didn't want crunchy smoothies or little bits of plastic in my drink after the center shaft explodes. Got a Blendtec instead. 7 year warranty and made in the USA
This thing completely lacks finesse. If you want to chop up that iPhone or XBOX controller it's great. If you want to GENTLY mix up some ingredients get ready for disappointment.
If you're a "frozen margarita" person this is your tool.
Yet another Consumer Reports FAIL. There is no way that this product could have not gotten a DO NOT BUY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES from them. I mean, what if, while filling the blender carafe, your wedding ring falls in. You reach in to retrieve it, using your other hand to brace yourself, but your hand slips and presses the "puree" button, shredding your other hand. Now, you're left with a hook for a hand and blood all over the kitchen.
Bad Consumer Reports! You are derelict in your duty to protect consumers from their own stupidity.
The price loaded on my phone before the item and I said Meh. Then I saw the item and it was too difficult to resist. I have been pricing these for over a year now. I wanted the blender, food processor & the drink cup blender but I couldn't ever find a reasonable sale price. $100 is a steal and I always had good luck with the refurbs I bought on the original woot. I'm so excited! I can't wait for it to arrive!
$9 less than when I bought one 3 months ago from the "other" site. This thing is large, like almost 2x the size of my old blender, and with the accessories, I thought the UPS lady was dropping off a car engine
When something like this (read: not at all interested) sells out even this quickly, I'm like, "Really I must be missing out. Did I just pass up a crazy-great deal?" Then I look at how much I blend, crush, puree or liquefy. The answer is none, nada, zip, zero. $100 stays in my blend-free pockets.
I'm just carefully going to say that.. I don't like my Ninja. I'm not sure what model I have, but its the basic blender with plastic pitcher. I do like how easy it is to hand wash, but it collects nasties in unreachable areas when it has gone in the dishwasher.
We use our blender for fruit smoothies and to make salsa spicier and without chunks. We had an old blender that did a fantastic job but started giving off that burning appliance smell. After we got rid of it, family bought us a Ninja.
I'm all about hype. I love hype. I feed on it. I let it burn up all the sense while I inhale grand expectation. And then expectation tells me, "You should not need to spoon all the stuff out of the corners of your pitcher so that things blend." Sooooo.. Ninjas are great for Meh?
@summetj Uhhh....yeah that doesn't sound right. Can you contact support at https://meh.com/support and include some pics of the blender you received? We'll take care of you.
This is the first time I have even been disappointed in a refurb. My Nina just arrived and it's beat to hell. Both the blender and food processor are ALL scratched up. I'll send an email to support, but man $100 is a lot to spend on something that looks like it was thrown across a warehouse floor.
@LadyLeela I purchased one from woot that had scratches in the main pitcher like that. I purchased this one as a gift, so hopefully it doesn't come out like this. Sadly, I think mine got lost in one of the winter storms in the northeast. It was supposed to be delivered today, but there's been no tracking update for 5 days, last seen in NC. :(
Well, I liked the teal color....but now the piece of plastic on the top of the pitcher handle cracked off (somewhere, we can't even find the missing piece.)
@Thumperchick Now I'm regretting keeping the teal one, as Ninja's web store only lists the black pitchers for sale as replacement parts. I guess I'll have a two tone blender now....

MEH. Not everyone is tax-refund rich, guys!
@BootlegCraig my blendtec scoffs at this being tax refund rich...
@Headly poooo
@BootlegCraig Tax refunds are free loans to the govt. Research it and get your money all year long.
@BootlegCraig I'm self employed so tax time usually means I owe money. Imagine everyone owed boy would America be in even more trouble.
@Headly couldn't agree more my Blendtec makes the Ninja look like a redneck kitchen knife.
@flipping_things I've had this argument many times. You say tax refunds are a loan to the government. I say tax refunds are a loan to myself. It allows me to have a chunk of money every year to get something big that I would otherwise not have because I lack the discipline to save it.
@Headly +1
@phatmass A loan at effectively negative interest...

A little research can go a long way to helping motivate you to save. And you don't have to be a rich guy to get smarter about your money. Just trying to help.
@flipping_things thanks! Sounds too complicated though. I'll let the govmnt mooch off me in exchange for making my life easier.
Refurb? I'm thinking Meh... Reviews ARE kick A$$ though.
I think I read somewhere that fruit loses like 100% of any nutritional value if you blend or process it.
@axleman1011 yep, and a lot of people don't realize that water is toxic when frozen.
@axleman1011 Better start swallowing that stuff whole then
@Headly explain?
@Headly that depends on how fast it's moving when it hits you.
@axleman1011 i assumed your post was sarcastic. so i responded in kind. blending things does not affect the nutritional content of anything unless you blend it lomg enough to cook it which my blendtec is capable of.
@Headly No, I was just misinformed. Thanks for clearing that up.
@axleman1011 Fruit only loses 100% of its nutritional value if you are vaxxed.
@axleman1011. Actually, I believe you're thinking of juicers, which remove all the solid stuff
@mister2 yep, juicers separate insoluble fiber from fruit juice, which makes it about as healthy as soda. Blenders just pre-chew it for you.
@amitchejr ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
@SpeakerDoc @mister2 got it, i learned so much about fruit today!
Refurb! Meh's default condition!
@RicoSuave Uhhhhh.......
Does it blend ninjas?
@mortonfox it blends pirates
@Headly It blends pirate ninjas.
The refurbs are the units that they tried to blend Chuck Norris in. The blenders did not survive.
@sohmageek I agree! Sell some Nas, meh! You can put me down for another copy of Illmatic.
Will it blend?
@ChunkyBitz Yes, but will it BLEND?
Don't worry, my Vitamix, no one is as good as you
@billymayfield The Sweethome agrees!
@billymayfield Agreed.
@billymayfield My blendtec fits under my cabinets with the jar on, tall jar man.
@givemeyoursoul Yeah, we leave the 5 sided jar on and it fits under the cabinets, lid on, with about 2 inches to spare.
Thanks, meh. I've been waiting for woot to have this on sale again for this price. Love the one I got last time. It's a smoothie making machine.
Not quite the same as the last one guys. This one doesn't have the adjustable variable speed, just the three settings.
Ah, that bloody Amazon review. The Ninja's revenge...!
The experts in ninjitsu tell you that right-mindedness was a prime element of their training. If you're going to buy this, make certain that you are right-minded...which keeps me from buying it.
"But look, if you prove yourself as a good friend by doing this for us, we might be persuaded to buy some ads in your magazine."
Bwahaha!
Alright, not funny. Where the fuck are the speaker docks?!
@Cinoclav That's Friday night...tomorrow.
@Cinoclav i really did come here for speaker docks. i thought "it's friday. maybe i'll buy the speaker dock this time." But no. I already have a blendtec, so I actually would have preferred a speaker dock today.
@eeterrific No, it's not. Speaker docks were consistently on Friday.
@shinyhat Yep, first and last time those words will ever be spoken.
Too bad that jelly bean smoothie picture was photoshopped. The ice it's exactly the same I'm the strawberry photo and the jelly bean one. I wanted to know if it could really make a jelly bean smoothie, maybe even a skittles smoothie, but now I'll never know.

@juststephen I was agreeing with you, not disagreeing. That's why I said you can also see the blueberries in both pictures. Smh...
@Cinoclav I misread you. When I read it seemed it would be easier to do it than to Photoshop it, I assumed you meant it wasn't. At any rate, have a great night.
I swear you guys only put up the super cool stuff I want when Im broke as hell. Which is always.
Sorry for the typos, in bed, sick, using my phone.
Got it. Love it. Meh for another!
I was going to buy this and got the Ultima instead and if I didnt already have this and one of the 900 watt Ninjas I would get this. The price is great and the product is amazing!
@Troyaof totally agree
Had such hope for today!! Buy oh well...always to"meh"rrow

@thismyusername Yeah I should probably just hold out. But damn $500+ is serious!
The one you linked to on Amazon ($215) has two drink cups, yours only has one.
@webender Good point, Meh clearly should have subtracted $100 for the missing drink cup.
@webender The linked blender kit is also the BL771, not the BL772 (http://www.amazon.com/Ninja-Mega-Kitchen-System-BL772/dp/B009WVK0VC) as this sale indicates. The BL772 is actually supposed to come with three drink cups. With that said, you can get replacement cups for $10 each from the Ninja website.
is it compatible with iOS?
@alacrity No, everybody knows that only fart apps are compatible with iOS.
for blender noobs, how does Bowl-in-bowl work? what is it for?
@username "The 3 cup bowl in bowl is specially designed to nest perfectly in the larger bowl during use with a tight seal trim to prevent leakage and is ideal for anything from meal prep to final touches."
@khunjeff thanks, but i still don't get why i wouldn't just use the larger bowl
Oh, I love the Trilogy of Terror! Haven't seen that in years!
Well, I finally got my COOL GEAR DOUBLE-INSULATED MASON MUGs, Meh. I don't think removable liners were part of the listed features...
@haydesigner Yeah, that has happened to several of us - send a note to support.
@haydesigner just don't sit on it. or do - and get pics
@haydesigner That's not a feature? Seriously, they were coming apart when I was hand washing before use.
Can I make Will It Blend? videos with this? Perhaps utilizing my remaining stash (300 or so) of AA batteries?
@VeeDubTDI but then what will you power your $8 choppers and Weather alert radios with??????
@thismyusername i'm banking on Meh selling more batteries!!
Sold. Great reviews on Amazon and the wife had always wanted one. Hopefully refurb is solid.
So do I have to use the food processor attachment in order to snow-blow my driveway or will the regular head do the trick?
@Yakroot has anybody ever said you were "hard-headed"? If they have, then yes, clear away with your head.
For 100 clams I want real ninjas!
@Kerig3 How about ninja clams?
A hundred bucks seems like a good price. I paid that for a used Waring without the murdering feature.
So you try to use it like a normal blender and it jumps out and slices you up. At least they were honest when they named it. #TeamBlendtec
Hmmmm...bath?
I applaud Mediocre Labs for putting some higher priced stuff on the site. Better value. Would love to see more of it
Will this work with 220V/50Hz ?
@wishod Yes, for approximately 1 second.
@Cinoclav it's power level will be OVER 9000
@eyewerks I tried ignoring that and decided to read it as 'cat smoothie' instead.
Refurbs are often better than a new product, and this Ninja is just incredible. I have one. If you can spare the $100, it's worth every penny...
I have one of these. It works well but... terribly misleading name for a product. This is by far the loudest electronic appliance I own. IT'S LOUD!
I'll just leave this here, as a demonstration of the unit.
(and wait for the hate from the Seattle fans)
Meh. Almost bought a Ninja last week but decided I didn't want crunchy smoothies or little bits of plastic in my drink after the center shaft explodes. Got a Blendtec instead. 7 year warranty and made in the USA
At $100, no way. At $60, mama's getting a new toy. Good stuff, but less than meh price.
This thing completely lacks finesse. If you want to chop up that iPhone or XBOX controller it's great. If you want to GENTLY mix up some ingredients get ready for disappointment.
If you're a "frozen margarita" person this is your tool.
@Pufferfishy Well, it is a blender, not a stand mixer… Gentleness isn't really a quality most look for in a blender…
@brhfl believe it or not some people like to blend with the lid off, adding ingredients as required.
@brhfl And apparently Vitamix is doing it wrong. As they do have "gentle start"
@sjk3
@editorkid Best use of gif response ever. Gold star for you.
Refurb, huh? I hope I get the one with the blood on it. Friday the 13th and all.
Oh, and the obligatory, "that's one weird looking speaker dock."
I bought this, but then saw it was a recent Groupon deal (no longer available) for around $82. Now I feel taken advantage of.
@phatmass as of this post, your post is still within the 1-hour cancel link window...
@phatmass feel good news: those Groupon Ninjas had no warranty, only the 14-day Groupon return policy. This meh deal has a 90-day meh warranty.
My Cuisinart combo is good enough for now. I will hold out for a great price on a Blendtech. Gauntlet thrown.
In for 1 - motorized-wicked-gold
That's one scary looking dildo, must be the 50 Shades of Grey edition.....
$9 less than when I bought one 3 months ago from the "other" site. This thing is large, like almost 2x the size of my old blender, and with the accessories, I thought the UPS lady was dropping off a car engine
Let me know when you get the USB for this thing so I can work by the pool.
This was available when I clicked on it and sold out before I completed the transaction. Boo-urns.
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
I'm just carefully going to say that.. I don't like my Ninja. I'm not sure what model I have, but its the basic blender with plastic pitcher. I do like how easy it is to hand wash, but it collects nasties in unreachable areas when it has gone in the dishwasher.

This blender has a built in bluetooth speaker dock right?
Does anyone else's tracking number not work? Mine is only 12 characters and they're normally 20.
@tonylegrone there's some issues with tracking but it should update soon.
@JonT Thanks!
@tonylegrone Has your tracking number been updated yet? Mine is still only 12 digits
@harryhkh Actually, my blender showed up today and the tracking number never changed. Meh.
@tonylegrone oh well by the time this is resolved my blender will be at my house, you're right, meh
Just got mine...but it's TEAL in color.....Maybe I didn't read the ad copy closely enough, but for some reason I was expecting a black blender...
@summetj Uhhh....yeah that doesn't sound right. Can you contact support at https://meh.com/support and include some pics of the blender you received? We'll take care of you.
@summetj I love that color.
@Thumperchick As it turns out, so does my wife, so we may be all good here ;>
@summetj Just got mine, but it's black. I'm pretty jealous now.
Was there any mention of teal? I didnt even know ninja made teal. The blender itself isn't terible, but that base is hideous!
@Knightp I'm in the northeast as well but mine arrived in between storms. I hope your Ninja arrives soon & that it's in great shape.
Despite all the warnings I totally sliced my finger taking out the blades... oh and I got tuqousie too. I'd be great if I had a 1950s kitchen...
@themick7 I'm a litte jealous as I love 50's style kitchen stuff
Mine arrived with a chip in the blender and the food processor is split all down the side, unusable :(
Email to support and a ticket online have gone unanswered for three days. I hope they reply soon so I can get a refund or replacement.
@maleman876 Hang tight, we're still digging our way out of a massive avalanche of sock/vmp emails but we'll get you taken care of as soon as we can!
@hollboll this is why you guys should stop doing nice things for all of us, look at all the work it creates.
@maleman876 I feel you. I sent an email to them last Friday afternoon about my Ninja and I haven't had a response yet.
@hollboll Thanks for letting me know!
@hollboll @ladyleela has anyone gotten contacted back by support for returning/replacing the broken ones?
@maleman876 I received a very nice email from @hollboll indicating she is looking into a resolution for me & will let me know when she has one.
@LadyLeela I just got a reply that a replacement was on the way! Fingers crossed it's in one piece :-D
Well, I liked the teal color....but now the piece of plastic on the top of the pitcher handle cracked off (somewhere, we can't even find the missing piece.)
http://postimg.org/image/wy1qdf3gb/
@summetj ouch. Since it's out of the 90 day warranty, maybe you can try contacting Ninjas directly about a replacement for that part?
@Thumperchick Now I'm regretting keeping the teal one, as Ninja's web store only lists the black pitchers for sale as replacement parts. I guess I'll have a two tone blender now....
