New RSS Feed
6I was just browsing around and discovered Meh has a new RSS feed located at https://meh.com/deals.rss
There were several past questions about having this feed established but I didn't see any announcement that it was actually created. So here it is. Have fun creating all sorts of apps now.

Cool the RSS feed got noticed, but...
I wouldn't use the RSS feed to create apps. We have a better JSON API in the works.
The RSS feed doesn't really contain enough structured data to build an app. We created the RSS feed to be compatible with generic feed readers that have already been built (pulse news, feedly, flipboard, digg reader, etc). Sure, it has the deal's name and price in the title element and the HTML version of the deal's story and features in the description element, but we could change what data is included/excluded at any point in order to make a better feed reader experience.
My advice: wait for the JSON API which will have a structured version of the deal including the product name, price range, item attribute key-values (color: red, capacity: 32gb), photo URLs, Markdown version of the product story, the theme of the day (background/foreground colors), etc.
@shawn Really? Not "color: Georgia Red"?
@shawn Also, will there be a JSON interface into the forums?
@SSteve Shit. You're right. We should just hardcode "Color: Georgia Red" in every deal.
@shawn I love purple.
@cengland0 now you've done it. you will forever be to blame when the feed goes down.
@cengland0, the official goat of Meh RSS
@snapster Blame me for it and call it the goat feed. :)
@cengland0 You left out the best part: http://daringfireball.net/feeds/sponsors/2014/11/fucking_amazon (As far as I can tell, the whole reason the feed exists is in support of that ad. @snapster can clear this up).
@dashcloud yes, and that is how I discovered the feed initially.
@dashcloud Not the whole reason, but yeah we're on Daring Fireball this week.
@JonT Cool!
I actually enjoy the fact that I have no idea about what is going on here
@somf69 Think of it as one of these, which you can now set up digitally, for any old trivial thing.
It works well with IFTTT. Now I get a text message shortly after midnight with the new deal.
