Noticed it just now on Android in Chrome. Not sure about it yet, still getting used to it. Seems slick. Apologies if I’m not the first to post about it.
@agnesnutter@xobzoo I’m on my raggety old macbook running an older version of Firefox (because I’m too lazy to update it). I like all the pretty colors
@agnesnutter@xobzoo I got the new version. Problems with stuff being cut off on the iphone, computer nothing is but they layout is, in my opinion, problematic and the type is about 2 point for the section (that is now on the very bottom - not where it should be in my opinion) to find the link to the forum list. In my opinion that should be just under where they are highlighting some of the threads. They are showing the AI photo (which I don’t care about - it just wastes space).
What I do like about the version I am seeing is that you now can see all the product photos without having to click through a bunch of dots. That is an improvement.
@agnesnutter@Fuzzalini@xobzoo the version I see has all the pictures below the main picture and no dots. Somewhere somebody said there’s different versions that some of us are seeing.
@yakkoTDI It has changed the layout on laptops too, not just mobile. Some of the changes are ok and some, in my opinion are problematic. The enter page looks far more cluttered and like things are no longer together.
@jkawaguchi Yes and it is far more cluttered/messy, makes the page longer, problems on the iphone, some type is now way too small, and things that should be next to each other aren’t anymore (eg the link to the forum topic list isn’t by the highlighted topics anymore, instead it is at the bottom of the page in about 2 point type).
The AI photos of the highlighted forum topics are too prominent/big and take up way too much space (which makes the page longer). If people want to see them (many are typical AI stupid like they always have been) then people should be able to click on them to see them bigger.
@jkawaguchi I realized what I said in my comment might be misinterpreted. The AI pictures should be much smaller than they currently are in this new version. Then, if somebody wants to look at then more carefully, you should be able to click on it to make it look bigger. They take up too much space as they are now.
@jkawaguchi@Kidsandliz Is it more like the side deal website? They have small pictures underneath the big picture. I actually like that layout. And I use my phone almost exclusively to go to Meh.
@Fuzzalini@jkawaguchi on the computer it is like side deal with the additional photos below the main photo of the product (instead of the dots we had on meh)
@blaineg
That looks like what I’m used to on my computer or tablet…
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Oh wait… Just noticed the pics instead of dots…
I typically click the community button already since the old side panel was an abbreviated list.
For me on Android with chrome, the new layout moved the meh and buy it buttons from the middle of the screen to just barely visible. The price and specs are completely below the fold now.
I can’t definitely say the would impact my purchase habits, it does add more friction to making a decision.
In a similar vein, I only click “I like buttons” in the daily email because “I like links” requires scrolling to see it.
One change (at least, I think it’s a change) on the mobile version is that the forum topics list no longer shows who posted the most recent comment, making it harder to spot spammers. Not that it matters as much to me as it used to, but still…
I’m about it!
@PooltoyWolf Only @blaineg beat you to it.
Oh, man - it’s even all revamped on old pages now. Huh.
@Kyeh huh … How do they populate all the IRK notes and user posts (oh, they do generate the prior, but don’t hunt for the latter)
I’m not seeing what’s changed
@agnesnutter
@agnesnutter Somewhere they said they’re doing A/B testing, so only some of us are getting the new version.

@agnesnutter @Kidsandliz @xobzoo I’m still seeing the dots.
@agnesnutter @Fuzzalini @xobzoo the version I see has all the pictures below the main picture and no dots. Somewhere somebody said there’s different versions that some of us are seeing.
It kind of sucks because I don’t use mobile to access Meh.

Nice new layout for the Chromebook.
I must be team B as I’m not seeing any changes…all y’all team A gatekeepers need to post some screenshots,
.
@PHRoG Go to the who moved my cheese thread. There are some there.
@Kidsandliz @PHRoG cheese thread
I find it weird and disorienting!

@Kidsandliz
Totally agree with you. Why fix/change what was working fine? I guess it’s keeping up with the ‘new kid’ (AI) time!

If you’re wondering what you’re missing out on, here’s the view from Firefox on Windows.

Eh I’m old school. I don’t like it, it will take time to get used to it. It does looked cluttered. Was confused the first time I saw it…
