New DJI product: Mavic Pro "personal drone"
1DJI recently introduced the Mavic Pro “personal drone”.
Interesting. It costs nearly as much as a P4, so not sure what the intended consumer target is. I’ll have to read the full whitepaper on it to understand it’s intention.
All folded up and ready to go for a ride.

FOUR MILES?!?!?!?
At first I completely dismissed it, but on second look… I’ll have to reconsider it.
I want one…check out this review; skip to 8:10 for the fly / video
I want but just had to buy an engine for my car. Anyone want to buy this for me and send it to me
@ruouttaurmind I kind of want the mavic…
@sportykev It’s cute, for sure. I just checked out the specs on the P4 Pro. 4K/60 video is pretty freakin’ impressive. Four way collision avoidance system too.
@ruouttaurmind I am loving the form factor. I wasn’t crazy about using smartphone for FPV but all these reviews don’t have any issues with it. I guess I’m a fan of analog.
Shipped!!
@fultonmartin Did you get it yet? That’s my next drone. My ex-coworked just got his a week or two ago.
@garyhgaryh It came Monday (two days early). I had time to charge a battery and do a little flying (in “Beginner” mode) before it got too dark. I ran another battery through it yesterday…it’s nice, but it’s going to take some time to get used to it, and familiar with the apps that make it so capable. (The DJI Go 4 app crashes repeatedly [Nexus 6]; haven’t sprung for Litchi yet.)
(FYI, I ordered it on 10/17, so it took almost two months to get. I’m sure there’s still a wait, but probably not that long. And they charged my CC immediately, although they said they’re looking into not doing that…)
