@Kyser_Soze A synopsis of the story is: Toole is a story about a young train with serious ADHD and how he uses life lessons to learn to focus and live happily ever after.
@Stallion oh, just verifying I bought it. Like our write-up says, people gripe that the train isn’t 100% reliably glued to the tracks, but for me that’s the fun of a model train.
@f00l I’d love to live there if it were green most of the year and didn’t melt engineering plastics in the summer. And if this job comes through it’ll be fun if I don’t die of frostbite.
@givemehdeal Now that it’s autumn and wet leaves cover the rails, the commuter train I ride daily often overshoots platforms and has to reverse its way back to passengers. It’s not entirely confidence-inspiring.
@Alderuen My guess would be about G gauge. It is a good deal for what it is. Just keep in mind you probably won’t be able to buy extra track or cars for it. Also don’t be surprised if it only last a season or 2.
As a model railroader I personally hope these sets serve as a gateway drug and introduce many new people to the hobby.
@Alderuen Well I googled pictures with kids and HO train sets and maybe it is HO after all. Saw a couple of photos with kids looking about the age of the one in the photos here and the HO trains they were playing with were running around the legs of some dinning room chairs; another around a coffee table… Kid and minimal standard sized background like the photo here makes it harder to judge.
Edit - now I see the posts where people went to amazon and looked and posted it was HO. Sorry I gave you wrong information. I should have looked at amazon first.
@Garfield43 As a person interested in model trains but with no history whatsoever what would you recommend (besides this) to start out? Something that I wouldn’t regret if i’m not super into it, but is still neat in and of itself…
@hisgrossness This train is battery operated- your standard model train has a transformer and the electricity goes through the track. So this isn’t likely to be compatible with anything else. But if you like it you can go buy a Lionel set later.
/giphy bring lots of cash
@sammydog01 appreciate the reply, the cash is def where i am wary of getting into the hobby… but i’ll be damned if tiny trains aren’t one of the coolest things ever!
• You can put this train to run around anything, but
most people use it around their Holiday Tree
• JK we mean “Christmas Tree” but wanted to see
how many people we could upset
Oy vey! Can’t you just let us have our narish Hanukkah bushes? You appropriated the tradition from pagans in the first place, so how about paying it forward?
I mean, we’re working with menorahs and chocolate coins over here. Some pity would be nice.
@Rowsdower Well you could set it up on a table by the window and run the train around the menorah and fill it with chocolate coins and the gift of the evening… just sayin’…
I’m pretty excited about getting this. For years, I’ve been putting up mom’s real Christmas tree and decorating it. This year, the train’s going underneath it. I feel like a kid again.
What kinda lightweight baubles can you think of to put in the empty cars?
If this runs 5 minutes without going off the tracks, I’ll deem it a success. (Coincidentally, that success scale is the same one I use for many of my relatives.)
@medz wow! You’re really good at this. You should be a buyer for meh. I can do those! Except for the toenail clippings. If I wanted to do that, I would have to have started collecting them a year ago.
Great ideas!
Umm, just got mine. it’s not the same one pictured and it goes WAY too fast. It throws itself off the track. Doesn’t seem like it’s possible to adjust the speed
My train box looks different too, but still has the same model number. It does mention in the directions to ensure the tracks are well-connected.
.Tracks
• Choose a firm and flat surface for assembly such as a tabletop, floor, or carpet.
• It is recommended to place the tracks loosely on the flat surface to ensure there is enough space for complete assembly.
• When assembling the track, snap it together tightly while making sure the rail and rail connectors are aligned properly.
• NOTE: Improper assembly will result in derailment of the train.
• It is best to assemble the tracks where it will be ultimately displayed and used. If assembled tracks must be moved, please
ensure tracks do not bend.
• After track is assembled, please check all connectors to make sure tracks are flush and level. Ensure there are no bumps or
distortions. Run your finger on the track rails to ensure proper setup.
• If there are any issues, please carefully check the rail connectors.
wooo woooo!
o.k. it was only going like a few minutes, like 60 seconds, but i loved it!
I didn’t think my cheap camera would capture it, as the previews were a blurr,(yeah it does move sorta fast).
Thanks meh, thanks. https://imgur.com/a/CUYAy

Woka woka woka woka Choo Choo!
@mcemanuel I’ve fallen in lust.
@rpstrong dude, you’re telling me. I would watch Disney Junior with my daughter all the time and loved it when Choo Choo Soul came on.
DC is so hot…
@MagnaVis Yup. The other hottie was Nina from the Goodnight Show.
(my son is now telling me to stop watching baby shows
@MagnaVis I’m a bachelor with no kids . . . now I see what I’ve been missing!
@mfladd Sweet lord, I used to want to call in my own birthday to Sprout, pretending it was my kid’s, to hear her say happy birthday to me!
I have a special nighttime wish… but I’m not sure Hush the fish will be comfortable hearing about it.
Chu Chu!
/giphy Toot Toot
The train is bigger than I imagine? A banana comparison is much better than my imagination.
Oh, and Choo Choo!
@hchavers But does your banana fall off its rails?
@eeterrific I thought it was an apple.
Choo Choo!!!
Just showed my wife the deal, her eyes lit up like a Christmas Tree and she asked if we could put it under the tree.
@seraphimcaduto Dude, you have an awesome Woman and I’m sure you are a great guy also very kewl.
@cranky1950
@cranky1950 Why is that train smiling? It’s DERAILED!!
@Kyser_Soze Gosh you never read Tootle? You’re culturally deprived. It’s right up there with War and Peace and Goodnight Moon.
@cranky1950 You are absolutely right. That book is a classic. I still remember it.
@Kyser_Soze A synopsis of the story is: Toole is a story about a young train with serious ADHD and how he uses life lessons to learn to focus and live happily ever after.
WTF! I just bought a tree train set like two weeks ago.
@dave And…? Star reviews look weak
@Stallion oh, just verifying I bought it. Like our write-up says, people gripe that the train isn’t 100% reliably glued to the tracks, but for me that’s the fun of a model train.
@dave Damn you, again! This train has smoke?! The one I bought doesn’t. Damn
What am I supposed to do if I want this train but don’t need it for any holiday?
Is there a general purpose train set?
@mflassy like a nacho cheese dip delivery train?
@medz
@medz
Bless ya, Malcom. You’ll be missed.
this won’t fit around a regular family Christmas tree, will it?
@wew Buy two or three of them
@cranky1950 Makes a 50" circle or 50X57 oval so the inside will be about 40". Most tree stand are only about 24 inches
This isn’t going to be the greatest traIn set the rails are all plastic and you need to get them really flat for the train to stay on the tracks.
@wew If your Christmas tree is too big, you could always put up an auxiliary Festivus pole.
@cranky1950 This thing seems huge to me, cast iron tree stands are considerably smaller than 24″. Thinking I need to go N scale.
@brhfl This would fit around any tree go look at the ring on youtube they have the tracks laid out
@mellowirishgent thanks! pulled the whistle. Will try to remember to post a pic of it under the tree, so stop back.
@mellowirishgent The photos confirm what I thought/mentioned above — crazy large.
Cool.
Not meh.
Cool.

@f00l
Soooo…how is this smoke made?
@ZADMan Chinese electronics
@ZADMan Ha, being sold by a Texas website you can expect they’re blowing smoke.
@cranky1950
You’re welcome to be one of us, you know.
@f00l I’d love to live there if it were green most of the year and didn’t melt engineering plastics in the summer. And if this job comes through it’ll be fun if I don’t die of frostbite.
@cranky1950
Climate-wise, the SE portion and coastal areas are very green, as green as LA-GA.
You know we share a border with Louisiana, right?
And the summer in those areas is about the same as those of your recent locations. Or no worse.
Except you get to be in Texas.
There’s that.
That’s SE part’s not that big tho. Only a few hundred thousand square miles or so.
But I bet if you look you might find an open spot.
@ZADMan You need to add some mineral oil.
@f00l Gorgeous!
@ZADMan smoke part got me interested, surprised not much talk about it. it might be same as E-cigarettes, heating some glycol
Aak chu! Aak chu!! Does it have a name? Can I call it Thomas?
@givemehdeal Now that it’s autumn and wet leaves cover the rails, the commuter train I ride daily often overshoots platforms and has to reverse its way back to passengers. It’s not entirely confidence-inspiring.
@brhfl
You live in the burbs?
@brhfl Travel, you will. Let the train Force be with you. Train, you will, your mind, for confidence.
Tscheaux Tscheaux!
Bought one, but anyone know what kind of scale cars these use? I got a bunch of HO trains at my parents house looking for a new route.
@Alderuen Definitely is NOT HO. This sucker looks significantly way bigger (see photo with kid).
@Alderuen Usually these types of trains are about the size of Marx O gauge trains.
@Kidsandliz some kids look really big though. See kids with dinosaurs. Some of those dinos could eat 50 pallets of candy corn easy.
@Alderuen There on youtube that’s what sold me there huge and looks like a 100 dollar set
@Alderuen The amazon site has it listed as HO
@Alderuen My guess would be about G gauge. It is a good deal for what it is. Just keep in mind you probably won’t be able to buy extra track or cars for it. Also don’t be surprised if it only last a season or 2.

Cripes too late to edit that photo. Sorry again.
to whomever removed that photo for me thanks!
thanks guys!

@Garfield43 We have O-gauge but I have a bunch of HO in a box somewhere. O-Gauge takes up a lot of space.
@sammydog01 appreciate the reply, the cash is def where i am wary of getting into the hobby… but i’ll be damned if tiny trains aren’t one of the coolest things ever!
@hisgrossness If you like them really tiny check out N gauge. You can fit a whole town on one table.
@TheUnCola This is an awesome. So funny. I remember this because I think it is from an earlier season.
I have too “Train” my brain not to buy this stuff lol
Buster Keaton in the General:

Bought it and I then went on amazon and bought a conductor hat and train whistle. This will be a perfect white elephant gift.
My experience with MOTA products has not been great.
Got a dud electronic pet feeder.
My toddler has been into trains so I get to put this under the tree and make her happy. Parenting: so easy! (?)

@medz WTF?
@narfcake What?! They’re light and sparkly depending on the nail polish…
@medz wow! You’re really good at this. You should be a buyer for meh. I can do those! Except for the toenail clippings. If I wanted to do that, I would have to have started collecting them a year ago.
Great ideas!
@wew you can always ask the people of meh to send you their clippings.
@RiotDemon YASS! Let’s do it! Crowd sourcing FTW!
@medz Too hard to clean up every 4-1/2 minutes. I would go with wrapped hard candy.
uhhh. I think I’m in over my head.
Umm, just got mine. it’s not the same one pictured and it goes WAY too fast. It throws itself off the track. Doesn’t seem like it’s possible to adjust the speed
