The La-Z-boy reclining sofa I got from the discount section at the furniture store. One of the sides hasn’t been right since I got it, and it hurts my back. I should have returned it. Don’t ask why I didn’t.
@TheCO2 Yeah, La-Z-Boy is slipping in the quality department these days. I had the same problem with a rocker recliner that was a little lopsided, became more lopsided over time, then broke on that same side & no longer rocks. They still charge premium prices for shoddy products. I wonder how long it will take for the average consumer to catch on.
@ircon96 That’s pretty much the problem. It’s lopsided and the longer I sit, the further back it goes. Occasionally (always before I sit down), I will pull the back forward, but it never stays for long when I’m sitting in it.
@ircon96@TheCO2 you can actually get parts for La-Z-Boy through their dealers pretty inexpensively.
You may be able to fix them or get them fixed because they do stand behind their products more than one would expect these days.
@djslack@TheCO2 I do know about the warranty, etc, i just pine for the days when a piece of furniture would last a few years before it needed repair. Or came from the showroom in decent shape and not pre-lopsided.
It’s a Serta “ergonomic” office chair. I even tried one out in the store (for 30 seconds) and found it quite comfortable and solidly built, so I ordered one to replace my getting-a-bit-bedraggled-looking work chair.
And the new one felt good - for about 5 minutes. And then it didn’t. And then I started having lower back pain after sitting in it for a while. So I got another chair and rolled this one to the other side of the room, where it now gets offered to any visitor I don’t want to stay very long.
All the seats I own are pretty comfortable. After all, I own them and therefore they are replaced if not comfortable. The next one to go will be the recliner loveseat. Not because it isn’t comfortable, but because one side of it the bottom (leg part) won’t stay latched down. It has been great, but I think it may have not been designed for some of the stresses it got submitted to…
The damn chair at the nurse’s station at work, OTOH is a POS!
