ANY flower that’s in front of me at the moment is the prettiest! I LOVE flowers, any kind, all year round! If they happen to smell, that’s just a added bonus! Sunflowers and wildflowers are a favorite though.
@joelmw Nice! It is a beautiful flower, and I love that it grows in the shade, because my front yard didn’t get much sun. I like its delicacy, too - it looks lacy.
too many to choose just one! i love them all, but hydrangeas, tiger lillies, pansies & johnny jump-ups, peonies, morning glories, geraniums, and marigolds all rank high for me.
@jerk_nugget Indeed, not to be corny (but more than willing to slip in a possibly heavy-handed metaphor), but what I really like is a garden or arrangement that reflects diversity.
As far as I’ve heard, just the species Amaryllis belladonna. However the flowers commonly sold as Amaryllis are actually Hippeastrum and I’ve never seen those called that.
@jnicholson0619 Around here, it is my various lycoris (Spider lily, Resurrection lily) plants that are called “naked ladies” because they come up and bloom “bare”, with the leaves popping out around the time the blooms have turned to seed.
Lily! Both the flower and my daughter
That’s a hard one there a so many beautiful flowers. Smelling wise it would be the tube rose for sure.
Zinnias for us

@ELUNO
I like the smell of Carnations. They just smell clean to me. But for visual, orchids, tiger lilies or stargazer lilies
@ironcheftoni I’m surprised “orchids” was not a choice, though I picked “rose” because that was my mom’s favorite and she loved getting them.

@f00l my wedding bouquet was lavender roses 🥰
Passion Fruit Flower. These things grow everywhere here in Florida.
@Rueki Those are gorgeous! Never seen them, or at least don’t remember. Only been to Florida once.
@Rueki I call them mini ceiling fans . I love the way they smell.
If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then I’ll go with:
… or maybe:
…or is it the Eye of The Beholder?
And if you dislike my idea of beautiful flowers, all I can say is:
@rockblossom
I love, love, love those first 2!
@rockblossom The lotus pod creeps me out - I have tripophobia …

Irises are hands down the most beautiful flower in the world.

Not to be confused with best flower
@Superllama7 wth?!? They copied my flower pick a year before I picked it!
@joelmw Does it really grow in those colors?
@joelmw The blue and purple ones, I mean.
@Kyeh I’m pretty sure it does. I’ve seen them; not sure what the magic was to get them there.
@joelmw Wow!
This may be the most appropriate Valentine’s flower.
@Kyeh
2/14 is my birthday, and my mom and gramma helped me develop a strong attachment to this flower, so it’ll always have a special place in my heart.
Also, as it turns out, I’m a bit of a bleeding heart myself.
@joelmw Nice! It is a beautiful flower, and I love that it grows in the shade, because my front yard didn’t get much sun. I like its delicacy, too - it looks lacy.
@Kyeh - One of the few plants that thrives in my garden without attention, as I am not into gardening. I have both pink and white versions.
@kdemo Yes, remarkably low-maintenance!
@Kyeh What is it?

@joelmw yes, totally agree! i like a little of everything
You, m’love.
Lilacs!
@OldCatLady Certainly one of the best smelling flowers – and their short bloom makes them all the more special.
happy to see the lily appreciation in the comments

This is the closest in about 8 tries.
The Passion Flower certainly has to be up there. It grows wild in at least in Texas, and further south.
Today I’m feeling wisteria and lantana.
Wisteria
Lantana
Maybe some evening primrose.

Night blooming Cereus, a gorgeous flower from an ugly cactus.
Each flower opens from 11pm to 9am-ish for 1 night only.
Irises. Hands down.
I love dahlias.
Echinopsis
Did y’all know the amaryllis is also called “Naked Ladies”?
@jnicholson0619 I did not!
