@thismyusername I love the JBLs I got. Too bad those little waterproof speakers don't get very loud. Mine is maxed out in the shower and still isn't loud enough for my liking. And I have 3 of them.
To me there is nothing fun about a picture of Mao, and seeing that image used light-heartedly on a site I enjoy coming to every day was upsetting. The son of a bitch murdered tens of millions. Sorry to be a downer, but I felt I needed to say it.
Or to quote Bernie: "You can't just continue growth for the sake of growth in a world in which we are struggling with climate change and all kinds of environmental problems. All right? You don't necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants or of 18 different pairs of sneakers when children are hungry in this country."
I have the full size over-ear version of these in black and they look purty in person. The ones I have are the passive version as opposed to the active battery powered noise cancellation version, got them directly from Monster a while back. They actually sound pretty incredible for the money, even with iPhones and all. Don't know if these at Meh have the same drivers or not since Monster is so stingy about printing their specs.
"Ideal for the female music lover, a smaller, lighter Inspiration with a feminine touch, and the look of fine jewelry, with all the performance of the full-size edition. Noise Isolating On-Ear"
Geez...no mention of an attached swing-out mirror so you can look at yourself while wearing them...or do your makeup, maybe. They aren't trying very hard.
@RedOak It is handy to be able to plug into either side. As a lefty I like plugging into the right side, but most headphones have the jack on the left side.
Like a few of the other commenters here, courtesy of Meh I too have raver speakers, headphones, & speaker docks coming out of my ears (hyuk!) - and while I'll agree some impulse buys have been better than others - these were an easy sell for me (after a bit of research, of course).
I know the lonely Amazon.com review is a little off putting, but I came across a few solid reviews for these- which might help:
I've been looking for some over ears for my 14 yo daughter for a while now, & I even though I personally couldn't care less about sh*t like a share port or "the look of fine jewelry" when it comes to a pair of headphones - she'll probably think it's cool (or "totes magotes" or whatever the hell they say these days), & I will emerge a hero having saved her from those lame able planets (sorry Meh!) :-D
The one review... "This product was received at a free or discounted price in exchange for my review. I am a technology journalist and pride myself on providing fair and honest reviews. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have."
Time for some original thinking here. Get this! Shoes that are different, left and right. ? ? Duu uude? Different, you know left and right. ? Takes a little time to feel it, you know? What's that sound? I know, killer right? Think about it. Need I say more?
Without actual audio specifications, there's just no way to judge how good these things are. They could sound amazing, or they could be worse than a twenty dollar set of Sennheisers. Given that the specs are an industry standard near ubiquitously adhered to, the fact that monster chooses not to divulge them suggests that they have something to lose by allowing their product to be compared to their competitors. The scarcity of reviews out there suggest that most people aren't really willing to throw those dice.
@Nirahve Monster (and Bose) generally prey on consumers that "doesn't understand numbers" except "expensive must be better". It'd be hard for them to sell something for 3-50x the price if on paper, the other numbers look the same.
(From the techradar review, these things originally went for $269.)
@narfcake At $269 list, Monster had better fix that "jewelry look" to resemble the Hope Diamond. I know i'm not getting even 1/8 of $269 value in sound quality here.
Offer some Bluetooth headphones and I'll buy them. I'm done buying corded headphones...my Bluetooth headphones I use when running are absolutely amazing.
@f00l "jewelry look" = marketing BS. I am thinking Donald Trump would prefer white phones over other colors though, so maybe they'll be popular. Hopefully nobody will punch me in the face for saying that...
I totally agree. A wire is a lot less hassle than worrying about 1 more item to charge. The other issue is the delay when watching video that Bluetooth has.
These are my first meh.com purchase. I need comfy headphones. I was torn between wired and wireless, but charging is a PITA. I hope they're good quality. I'm no audiophile, so as long as they play streaming music/podcasts loud enough for me to hear over the vacuum cleaner, they'll suit my purposes.

Nope, I can "hear" the Meh cries loud and clear on this one.
@armchair lookin' a little 'lite' there. This monster deal calls for a monster dump.
uglyyyyyy
Good for listening to "The Monster Mash"?
Heads up- hear this deal is heads and tales above the rest -
I'm wearing Crocks!!
I've regretted three of the four audio products I've bought on Meh, for what its worth. The exception was that combination desk lamp/speaker.
Only having one Amazon review is suspect as well.
@andrewpatrick, mostly agreed. Although the BEM speaker cube has been great.
@andrewpatrick didn't everyone hate those? i thought i was the only one who thought it was pretty good. i ascribed it to my low expectations.
@andrewpatrick earbuds are a danger sign at meh, while full sized headphones are a mix, and the only dock work mentioning is the JBL MINI
@thismyusername I love the JBLs I got. Too bad those little waterproof speakers don't get very loud. Mine is maxed out in the shower and still isn't loud enough for my liking. And I have 3 of them.
@andrewpatrick i too like the desk lamp/speaker. it charges all my stuff and plays music! ~consolidation~

@cercopithecoid So I don't suppose you like "Chairman Meow" Chinese food for cats?
@cercopithecoid Cheer up these headphones are produced by more modern Chinese proletariat
@cercopithecoid he was a real MONSTER
ONE review on Amazon? Pretty Meh.
@craigcush You could be the second
sorry, but the white color is a deal-killer..YUK!
@jhechotek why, what do these sound like?
@sparkyfarad headphones.
Or a reader of Douglas Adams…
Or to quote Bernie:

@sparkyfarad Not getting the logic behind that one.
You guys should sell shoes
@jml326 two for Tuesday
I love the purple-on-purple color scheme today.
I'm wearing a Members Only jacket.
@Sevylor7
over an OP tee shirt I hope....

I bet you could sell out of thigh-high platform boots, Maybe you should start selling shoes.

Techradar Did a Review
These are an AMAZING DEAL. Too bad it isn't 1972 and my Hi Fi is in the shop.
... or you could finally put these familiar drawer-bottom-hugging turds to similar use.
@RedOak EXACTLY!!!!!
@RedOak It is handy to be able to plug into either side. As a lefty I like plugging into the right side, but most headphones have the jack on the left side.
@RedOak i never thought of that, and i bought a half dozen of those things - i wonder where they are now? good save!
I complain about a shoe store having too many shoes.
@jaypeeh
Well I've been meaning to get a pair of monster headphones each time I've seen them on sale. You guys caught me at the right time today.
@PenguinOnTheRox so did you buy them?
@robson

@Zypher I like wired headphones. I already have too many devices to keep charged.
Would have bit on the black ones. White, not so much...
@robrichnh
But that "jewelry look"! In black? No way.
@f00l "jewelry look" = marketing BS. I am thinking Donald Trump would prefer white phones over other colors though, so maybe they'll be popular. Hopefully nobody will punch me in the face for saying that...
@robrichnh
Re "jewelry look"as among the worst and funniest marketing garbage ever, agree.
"Catch my bling stupid-bad-sounding headphones! I'm so hot!".
Nothing against white tho. Just make them that audiophile tond of white.
I totally agree. A wire is a lot less hassle than worrying about 1 more item to charge. The other issue is the delay when watching video that Bluetooth has.
Hey Meh,
The 1970's called. They want their headphones back!!!!!
My brain lit up when I saw the word "gaming".
Way midrangy... treble and lower bass roll off pretty bad.... If they were $8 headphones I'd say they sound alright.
They are nicely constructed and finished aside from the sound. But still if i paid $200+ i'd be pissed.
I have a $20 of Sony's that I'll need to A-B to see what I'll keep. Huh... I really need to look into some Grado headphones.
Used once and now the right headphone is blown.
