@cinoclav I had a home burglary back in October, and one of the items stolen was a bag containing one of my drones and all of my action cameras (including two GoPros). So this is the first step in rebuilding my camera stock.
@mikehoxard I had a Vivitar DVR787HD purchased from Walmart for $35 that had the feature you describe. In fact, it included features specifically designed for dashcam capability. Endless loop recording, image flip, auto-record on power-up, etc.
The model has been discontinued, but there’s still an ample supply of them out there for around $30-$40. That particular camera did 1080p/60, but if you don’t care about 60fps, the Vivitar DVR 786HD has all the came capabilities, but only 30fps. Those are in more plentiful supply. Finally, there’s a 720p model which seems to be easily had for $25-$30.
What kind of battery has it got, and is it replaceable? No charging cable or port is mentioned. Or does it use alkaline/rechargeable AAs or AAAs? I can’t find this anywhere. The manufacturer doesn’t even seem to exist anymore outside of a Facebook page.
