From the Wisconsin State Journal:
A Monroe man, arrested after police in Middleton used a drone-mounted camera to search a marsh area where he was hiding, was charged Wednesday with stealing a car, robbing a convenience store and fleeing from police.

Marquis M. Phiffer, 21, told police that he was going through heroin withdrawals on May 31 when he stole a car from the parking lot outside EVP Coffee at Sequoya Commons, 555 S. Midvale Blvd., then robbed the BP gas station at 6504 University Ave. in Middleton.

After the robbery, Phiffer was chased by Middleton police, abandoned the car and ran into the area near Tiedemann’s Pond in Middleton. There the Middleton Fire Department offered police an inflatable raft and a drone with a camera to help them look for Phiffer, the complaint states.

When police reached Phiffer, the complaint states, his shoes were floating away from him, and a large wad of cash was also floating in the water.
