Meh-Only Holiday -- Irony Day
8On this day in history:
On August 28, 1957, Senator Strom Thurmond began his filibuster of the bill that eventually became the Civil Rights Act of 1957.
On August 28, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made his stirring and famous “I Have a Dream” speech.
What ironies can you name (not necessarily date coincidences)?

Good luck with this @ThunderChicken
I think it’s ironic that somebody who has mentioned all the political postings uses politics for his irony post.
@therealjrn Honestly I don’t recall mentioning all the political postings. I think the most I have done is “like” a few comments about keeping politics to the political threads. I do some strange things in the middle of the night and don’t always remember, so if I am wrong about this, I apologize in advance.
I didn’t so much use politics for my irony post as suggest the “Irony Day” holiday when I learned both events occurred on August 28.
@ThunderChicken Maybe I’m the confused one then. Lots of posts.
I apologize in arrears.
@therealjrn I’m confused most of the time.
@therealjrn Anyway, don’t apologize. I’m the goat here.
@ThunderChicken And a darn good one too.
@therealjrn Why, thank you!
Major League Baseball honored Jackie Robinson yesterday (though it usually does so in April).
Chadwick Boseman played Jackie Robinson in the movie “42” and passed away yesterday.
I think it’s ironic that the day after Irony Day, Meh is selling something to eliminate irons.
@ybmuG
/giphy very nice
I think that all of the things that are described as ironic in that song aren’t ironic at all - just unfortunate and/or coincidental.
