@dunda I think this was at least hinted at when the leagues were set up. However, I've heard that last year's promised prizes didn't happen. Perhaps @hollboll can answer this? I have a friend who would like to know, too.

@dunda If its like last year, they will be promised multiple times then never delivered and the winner will be forced to wallow in self pity and doubt while typing this comment.

For these leagues, sure. I'll send the winners a prize but keep those expectations low. As @mehcus can attest, I don't really know much about the sport games. ;)

@smigit2002 The crazy thing is that I almost didn't make the playoffs, despite having the highest point total in the league. I have a gift for drawing out my opponent's best game of the season.

@christinewas Apparently you truly DO have that gift... I'm going to be pissed if I win, it's going to ruin my bracket! This is bullshit, not only that, but if I win, it's cuz I had to watch Russel Wilson teabag all over my home team. Grrrr. Winning sucks.

@christinewas Congrats on the win! I was super confused by your statement about getting it together this past weekend, I've never played in a league where the playoffs span multiple weeks per round. Oh well, least my bracket is doing well (I think...) Should have written down my choices.

@kadagan Yeah, the Thursday games can give a small advantage, but I'm not too worried about it. Mostly because the playoff rounds are determined by two weeks worth of scores. The performance of those Minnesota and Arizona players shouldn't have too much of an impact on most of the teams.

@christinewas Could you explain the scoring in the playoffs, because this is the first I've heard of the two week thing. Is it total points?

@sammydog01 Yes. Both weeks are like a normal week, but the scores for the two weeks are combined to determine who moves on to the next round of the playoffs.

@maggie Hey, as long as you aren't saying "Go Patriots," I'm good. I like those Panthers. (Though I will confess that my initial interest in the team was in their colors and mascot. Pretty...)

Your league is set to private and you didn't have a smack talk thread. I used clues from the threads and a basic process of elimination to match teams with screen names. @capguncowboy gave me the names of your playoff teams and owners, but it wasn't enough.

The good thing about being left out is that you will only be blamed (but not directly responsible) for people's brackets falling apart.

In the playoffs, if there is a tie after two weeks, it goes to the higher seeded player (me in this case, #2 vs your #3 in the scoreboard)

Homework is useless, just look how fruitful my QB homework was...

At a quick(-ish) glance, it looks like @Odi, @sammydog01, @ceagee, and @christinewas are leading with 30 points from a flawless first round. (We picked different league winners, though, so there isn't a chance of more than one person finishing with a perfect bracket.)

Final picks are worth 5 points, so several other people still have a decent shot at winning, too.

@sammydog01 I fear @joelmw has a healthier team. My star player beckham has been suspended for unsportsmanlike behavior He's appealing fingers crossed. My star rb ripped something in his knee. The new rb I picked up that was replacing someone who got hurt is now injured and out. My main star rb is big o but tumors of playing swirl. I don't think they are going to risk him since they have PO locked. THe list goes on AND On. oops cap locked. I still had to pick me to win. You never know who on his team might rip their knee in practice or start of game.

@ceagee Yeah. And you never know when his QB might carelessly break his thumb tackling someone at the very beginning of the game.

It kills me that I only lost by 13 points to mrmark. Dalton would have easily made 14+ points if he hadn't forgotten he was an important QB. Then again, it would have ruined my perfect bracket.

@Odi Thank you, and I won't gloat much (or at all) since I spent Sunday morning swapping out Brady (ESPN) and Roethlisberger (Yahoo Sports). And thank you Bengals defense. You have to admit it was exciting- the first week I watched a predicted win of 20 dwindle to a predicted loss of 30 with a final manageable deficit of 15. What a season. Now I'm hooked.

@ceagee Where's mine? I won the Stupid Goat league. Had to overcome a 42 point deficit to do it.

@Teripie You get blamed for winning anything goat-related. You don't get a ring. There are no rings in goat leagues.

That said, I did pick myself to lose in the goat league. But I had to. @MrMark and I were in the same division, so I had been watching him dominate all season, while trying desperately to catch him. I simply knew I didn't have much of a shot. I like winning too much to throw a game, though. However poor my odds may be.

@Odi in my heart I picked @hollboll . But on the bracket form, somehow it didn't translate. or some such sort of bullshit. Forgive me @hollboll ? You don't keep a box of spiders for certain orders do you ? I thought that was just some crazy rumor.
