The small image before each username has a meaning
Some users in the forum have a special icon that appears next to their username and on their user profile page. These forum badges indicate their role in the forum.

Then, in the spirit of friendly competition, we would let everyone star their favorites in a
Faq Off.

And in that spirit, the mehtizen that submitted the winning entry for the FAQ Off would be designated the G.O.A.T FAQer.
Perhaps they would even get a custom badge with appropriate iconography.
@mehcuda67 @mike808 @koolhandjoe It’s a great but. There will be lots of FAQer doing even more FAQing, which could lead to a FAQed up FAQ.
Lol I am not even sure if we still talking about meh’s FAQ.

Note that a user can have more than one “role”, but only one icon will be displayed. For example, I am a Kickstarter and VMP, but only my ‘K’ shows up here.

@heartny @pooflady The picture in the above post shows the order. Your default badge is the highest one on the list. If you qualify for a lower ranked badge, you can ask customer service (link at the top right of every web page) to set the badge you prefer (if you qualify).
For example, I am less enthused about my Goat Emeritus status, than my VMP status. So I asked them to set mine to VMP. The mehmbership of the Dead Goat Society is too damn high, and increasingly diluted with each passing month. Unlike VMPs. Besides, I don’t want to be associated with those people.

I don’t think they set your VMP as the badge to show so much as removed the past scapegoat badge from your account.
So that really only works with the goat badges.
@Ignorant That’s what I said. They set my VMP badge to show. How they did it is immaterial.
@mike808 @pooflady I seem to recall some people asked to have their poop badge removed. They are badgeless until they achieve another status.
