I tried the free VMP membership, and actually continued after the free period. I sent in a complaint that they won't ship to Hawaii (I had been using an Arizona shipping address as a workaround). Next time I placed an order with the same Az shipping address, they blocked my Hawaii billing address! Classy move....

or, your credit card company threw up a flag and denied the transaction for no apparent reason. at my previous job, i used to have everything shipped to work instead of my house. one day, a purchase got denied. i called my CC company and they said they denied it because shipping address didn't match the billing address. i told them i'd done this many times without any issues. they couldn't explain why the system rejected it this time. i added my work address as an alternate address and problem solved.

jk, we made a change recently to verify that the state is entered correctly for shipping addresses and it looks like that change affected billing addresses too. Thanks for the heads up, we'll work on this.

  1) a little less embarrassed to be an American
  2) a little more willing to own that I live in the DFW metroplex
  3) slightly less ashamed to be such a consumer and witless pawn in the capitalist machinery
  4) --really, you can ignore that other political bullshit--just plain amused and pleased
