Meh -> Fedex -> USPS -> nowhere ... what now?
3I love Meh, but you guys use this really cheap Fedex delivery method that passed the package off to the US Post Office for the final leg. My latest Meh purchase just ... disappeared. USPS claims they delivered it, but it's nowhere to be found. No way to verify (or not) that the delivery was actually made. I'm so bummed. Christmas is ruined! Okay, not really ruined, because we still have singing and love and each other, but without gifts, how can I emphasize the whole materialistic aspect of Christmas? Whatever shall I do now?

p.s. My little mailbox has a lock on it, so there was no thievery. And, it's not so little that it couldn't hold the package.
It's Christmas, all the shipping companies are SWAMPED I had a package coming that Disappeared for a week. check with your local post office go in don't call. They should be able to help
Every once in a while, USPS will mark a package to me as "delivered" when it absolutely was not delivered. I chalk this up to a mis-scan. With one exception, it has always shown up the next day.
With yours - does it say where they delivered it to? (Porch, mailbox, etc.)
TL;DR: Try calling the local office, but just know that they are swamped right now.
The USPS claimed that they delivered a meh package (they even marked it "Delivered"), but it was nowhere to be found. I called my local post office, and they informed me that it was sitting on a shelf at the office. None of them had any idea why.
The very next meh order (a Martian Notifier watch and only a week later) USPS lost my package. It was "out for delivery" but was never delivered. I called the local office, trying to figure out what was going on, and they informed me that they lost it. Nowhere to be found. The supervisor was very kind, but I could tell that she didn't really want to deal with the situation. Meh was kind enough to refund my money and they made the situation right.
Sometimes a package gets stuck in the system. I suggest calling the local office and giving it a few days to iron out.
My Lifeguard emergency tool disappeared somewhere in the hand off between Fedex and USPS a week ago. Hopefully, I don't slide off an icy bridge and drown before one of them locates my emergency escape tool and delivers it to my doorstep. If not, then I hope one of my relatives will be kind enough to bury me with it, in case I wake up and need to escape from the coffin!
KuoH
@kuoh mine as well... it has been in transit from the fedex hub to the destination post office for... 19 days now.
I had this happen with something from an amazon marketplace seller... gave it plenty of time, contacted the seller, they refunded me... couple weeks went by and it showed up at my door...
My best guess: the packages are stuck on the bottom of the mail cart and we will have to wait until it falls off and someone kicks it.
Hey, this just happened to me! USPS said delivered Friday. After checking with my neighbors (no one had it), calling FedEx (they can't help once it's passed to USPS), and refusing to sit on hold with USPS for 60-90 minutes, a lady showed up at my house this morning saying they delivered it to her by accident. Same street number, different street name. Check to see if there's a similar situation near to you.
@kpackard well that sucks. Shoot our support team a message and we can at least try to help. But it looks like the advice you've been given up above is pretty spot on.
@MEHcus -- YOU SENT A REPLACEMENT AND IT ARRIVED ON SATURDAY -- I THANK THANK THANK YOU!
USPS? Holiday time? You're screwed unless Meh can help. (Source: personal experience with other USPS shipments. Even caught our carrier in a lie - don't ask.)
@RedOak asks
@Thumperchick
@FroodyFrog that about sums me up as a person.
@Thumperchick
Just so we're clear, you DO get what the picture is representing. Right?
@FroodyFrog,
It appears @Thumperchick claims Pandora lineage.
@RedOak @thumperchick
She's ALSO claiming descent? Uh oh...
@FroodyFrog yes, I am aware of Pandora's box...
@Thumperchick
Just making sure, because by you also connecting yourself to what many people ignorantly think is a myth...
@FroodyFrog @RedOak - There is a story from my early childhood that I'll share with you.
My Mom owned and ran a video store in East LA back in the '80's. They'd been robbed a couple of times and my mom was pretty done with the whole "robbery by knife and/or gun" crap, so they installed an "Oh Shit" button. This button was bright red and under the counter. I was about 3. (Do you see where this is going?)
She brought me to work with her sometimes. On this particular day, I was being so well behaved. Quietly entertaining myself, playing at mom's feet. A bit too quiet. Come to think of it, the store was unusually quiet as well. An hour had passed without a customer coming in.
Then, one poor soul heads towards the door, looks up just before entering, changes his mind and leaves. This happens 2 more times. Finally, someone comes up, looks up, and walks into the store.
This brave bastard walks up to my mom and asks, "Hey, is everything here okay?"
Mom - "Yeah, except everyone outside is acting super weird."
Dude - "Well, that's because there police outside, on your roof and in the parking lot, armed with shotguns."
Mom - "WTF? Why?"
Dude - "No clue, looks like they're worried about you, though."
As you've figured out, my happy ass pushed the shit out of that shiny red button, tripping a silent alarm that had local PD show up IN FORCE. For some reason, they couldn't get through to us on the phone and assumed the worst possible scenario. Mom had to walk outside, with me, and tell them there was nothing wrong. She got fined and I never got let near that button again.
I would totally be the asshole that opens Pandora's box - just because it's there.
@Thumperchick now that a few years have passed how do you feel about "pushing buttons"?
@RedOak I still push them...
The same thing happened to me with 3 packages. I'm learning to check with the 92 year old woman across the street because that is where they keep landing. USPS response to complaint is "it shows 'Delivered'".
I had a package marked as delivered by USPS last year and it was nowhere to be found. I called all wtf and they told me it should be delivered later. At like 9pm, the guy showed up with it. They were just running super late and had marked it as delivered because Reasons.
UPS just this week dropped off a next-day refrigeration box with $5k worth of medicine on my front door without even knocking or ringing the doorbell, even though it was signature required. I tracked the package and the delivery guy forged my signature.
Point is: FedEx, UPS, USPS, doesn't matter who you use or what level of service you pay for, holiday time is insane and they're all stressed and making mistakes or cutting corners.
That happens to me all the time! The package usually shows up the next day. I think sometimes they loose it in the truck and mark it delivered so the system doesn't penalize them, then drop it off the next day.
The USPS lost one of mine for 15 days once. UPS transfered it to them and it took them 15 days to get it to my door. I never did figure out what happened with that one.
Will do, thanks for the suggestion.
MEH IS THE BEST BEST BEST! MEH sent a replacement, and it came today.
MATERIALISTIC CHRISTMAS IS SAVED!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !
@kpackard Fuck yea, Meh CS. They the real MVPs.
