@JonT well. I'm sorry I missed it. But this week is looking up. I got my days confused with deliveries. Also looking for decent boxes... The ones you guys have been shipping me have either been too small or damaged in shipment. Not damaged to the point of needing support. But damaged to the point of I won't reuse the box. Also sorry I don't brew my own. Just sharing some of the good Vermont brews.

@marklog Figured I could get into this a little more: My day is often this - 1) Review & confirm we're totally good for tomorrow's event. 2a) Help work on story ideas, products, prices for future events (we try to be about a week out). 2b) Pass on relevant stuff to writing, videos, photography needs. 3) Discuss and mock-up never-ending new features and site ideas. 4) Iterate on whatever projects, writing, and design is going on. (Like new forums, newsletters, scheduling custom ads) 5) Check in on customer support, the forums. 6) 1:1s with people I manage to see if they need anything.
@dave Very much appreciate the explanation, however as mentioned above, I believe that I was phished by the octopus.
In all seriousness, I appreciate the detail. Not too many organizations put themselves in a position to be this transparent, and it's one of my favorite things about you all. I know how dififcult it is to coach and mentor others. Middle management is hard on both sides. When things are running great, you're 'extra'. If it's broken it's because you aren't a great leader. I'm lucky to have a fantastic staff that makes me look good :)

How big of a cluster buck was that battery debacle? And am I an idiot because I spelled debacle, deboccle before spell check? Also, who is the meh spelling champion or are you all spelling challenged like me?
@jimmyd103 I'd guess @jasontoon might be our spelling king. It's always a big surprise when we notice he's made a spelling error, or typo, or grammatical mistake. Not sure what to say about the batteries that we didn't just bluntly say in the email or the topic - leaky batteries suck, and people who sell us leaky batteries suck.
@dave Did you use any profanity in the email or call to the vendor once you found they had lied to you?
@dave big ups to you guys for issuing the wholesale refund. I have never had that experience from another site.
@dave @JasonToon do you guys miss the photochop contests you used to run on woot? any plans for regularly-scheduled community creative contests along those lines at meh?

@jont, how do you keep up with all of the posts in the forum? Do you merely use the same interface as the community? Do you have your own wacky interface? Do you subscribe to every single thread and manage it through email (crazy)? Utilize manatees who grab balls with words on them to form phrases?

@dave profhotpants used to be an art director at shirt.woot. any interest on her part to start up shirt or other designy offerings, either at meh or elsewhere?
@no1 She still does the occasional shirt.woot design, especially the Christmas sweaters, but there were a couple others in the last 6 months or so, too. I think shirt.woot has some search you can do.
Where did the names Mediocre and Meh come from?
What kind of education do you guys have? How did you wind up here? How much pressure is it to have to write every day, and how bad is it to do a new write up every time something goes on sale a second or third time? Curious minds want to know.
I think these are mostly @jasontoon questions, but I'll say that quite a few of us have a little but not a lot of college. I dropped out of taking design classes when I got offered a design job. A lot of tech works like that I think, too.
Aside from your phone, what's your favorite gadget at the moment?
@dave have you started working on any new "experiments" or are you guys still working full-time on teh Meh?
@jsh139 There's always little things spinning up here and there. I'd call this LabStream an experiment of sorts. And have you seen that drone.horse community? But nothing big, and yeah, Meh is definitely taking the majority of our time.
I'll finally be able to tune in (at least for the first 25 min or so). My question: When is the next fuku and can you please save one for me?

Here's my question: was there any discussion that "Meh" is kind of difficult to pronounce orally/verbally? It's one thing to read it in print, but when you're recommending the site to your coworkers, it comes out all funny. Not that it's a problem, but I wonder if that ever came up.
@defibrillator It comes up EVERY SINGLE TIME I tell one of my relatives about Meh.
@defibrillator Yeah, we definitely discussed it. Mostly decided that it was worth it for all the other reasons, especially since we live in a mostly-typed world these days. (Plus, you'd be surprised how many people were confused how to pronounce "woot" even, so it felt like it was going to happen regardless.
Seriously... I get you guys have a lot of Gun stuff... but you know who is more liberal about guns... :) Vermont :)

@jsh139 A very belated thanks for that extension! It's a sanity saver, especially when the community is in full froth and I'm trying to keep up with multiple conversations. I just wish it worked on my aged android tablet, where the best I can do is click on last comment (and often miss new comments earlier in the thread).
