Looking for...
1a new steam mop. Mine died and I’m trying to prepare my house for sale and my new house has hardwood floors. I know I’ve seen them on meh and the sister sites, but none are listed right now. I’m wondering if there are any other discount sites around. I’m don’t noodle around the net very often - I usually stick with sites I know or have been recommended to me.
so… do you have any recommendations on where to get a good steam mop at a nice discount?
… also to those at meh, I have an irk coming

But for real, this weekend was not my weekend for technology. The mop broke and I couldn’t get the auto painter thing I borrowed from my dad to work and lost time trying to figure that out and ended up doing it manually anyway. My husband had to go for an overnight trip his first day of his internship (today) so I’m prepping the house by myself with my kiddos and trying to fit it all in my budget.

I’ve had good luck with my Shark Steam Mop. Mine is similar to this one. Shark seems to be a pretty good name for well made, not crazy expensive cleaning machines.
Not entirely sure what you’re saying with respect to your current house and your new one, but using a steam mop on hardwood floors is generally considered to be a bad idea.
@Limewater +1. Tile, sure. Laminate or vinyl plank, depends on how it’s made. Engineered wood or hardwood, not a good mix for a steam mop.
Now @mbersiam did mention about preparing the current house for sale, so the need may be more for that rather than the hardwood in the new house.
Alas, I’m not much of a help because I haven’t looked for one since I bought a Haan many years back. I want to say it was from Woot, but it may have been a NIB thrift store purchase too.
@Limewater ok, good point. There is some tile in the new house, (kitchen and bathroom). I’ll have to make sure I properly clean my hardwood floors. I’m not sure if they’re original but the house is over 100 years old and has some amazing original hardwood ornamentation (is that a word?.. I mean like the door frames and such).
My current house was built in the 80s and has laminate flooring in the kitchen and I just put down a floating floor last year in the living areas.
+1 for steam mop request
I have the true and tidy x2 thanks to my last IRK. I love it for small in between cleans. Will be great for my studio. I also have the Hoover floor mate which I’ve now had for years and honestly it’s pretty fabulous. I use it to properly clean my hard floors probably every other week. I’d say once a week but I’d be lying. I use the true and tidy in between. Mostly in the kitchen. I would recommend both tbh.
We had a Haan that worked really well and lasted. Was the best on the tile, especially keeping the grout clean. Make sure to keep it clean & de-scaled, especially if you have hard water.
Not sure how much you want to spend but had this at our other house which had 100% poreclain tile floors and it was the highest rated by consumer reports and worked great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G7CE334/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I’ve got this one, and it works. But that’s probably not terribly helpful, since that good for nothing vendor sold out already.
You can try BRADS DEALS. They have all sorts of deals on everything. Also sister sites at bottom of Meh.com screen.
@mbersiam @ carl669 There’s this on Morningsave right now:
@Kyeh I own that mop. I use that mop. I don’t recommend buying that mop.
@sammydog01 Oh, good to know. I wasn’t planning to buy one but I knew they were looking. What’s bad about it?
I am recovering from surgery and hopped up on drugs…I read that first sentence as “I am looking for a new step mom, mine died”
I think I should get off my phone before I do something stupid, like buy everything over on side deal…or a few cases of the Casemates offering today, although not stupid as it looks good, but stupid for my wallet.
@cbilyak Yikes! I hope your recovery goes well.
@cbilyak thanks for laugh! I needed it today
