Lewis & Conger? WTF?
2I was able to not take Hammacher and Schlemmer terribly seriously given that they had been in bankruptcy. The world had turned, against them. Or past them. Or something. But what is a Lewis & Conger, and why would I want to know?

Looks like it was some NY store I never heard of
It began in 1835, in a downtown New York housewares shop where two messenger boys delivered pots and pans through the city in baby carriages. In 1868 they reopened it under their own names — Lewis & Conger — and built one of New York’s most complete houses of well-made things for the home.

I checked it out the other day and it looks like it’s been “store.com-ified” in that it reminds me of MorningSave and SideDeal. It currently doesn’t seem to offer anything noticeably different. So much Cuisinart
@heartny That was my impression as well. Perhaps they will assign a few people to go out and find genuine Good Stuff. Maybe. And maybe we’ll see $5 IRKs again, too.
@werehatrack Mehbe we’ll see cheaper IRKs during Meh’s upcoming birthday celebration. We can dream.
@heartny I doubt that they’ll be cheaper, and I expect the rules for the credit-back to be even more Byzantine than usual.
