Inspired by another thread on travel to give this it’s own separate topic. This was back in February 2022, ice drifting with Lamborghini in Livigno, Italy right by the border with Switzerland.
Mmmm, very nice to see these icy snowy scenes right now. I never knew this existed as an activity. Is it considered an actual sport? Or more just an exciting pastime like windsurfing?
@blaineg@Kyeh
Drifting is one of the three main auto related sports - race track (be it F1 or nascar etc), and rally driving (non-pavement) being the other two.
@chienfou 100% driving. The event is for us to learn, not a taste of Lamborghini. This isn’t Porsche experience center. Even then, I did week-long Porsche driving school proper.
@blaineg@hammi99 Yes. Lamborghini sold their tractor division in 1972. They still make tractors under the Lamborghini brand but it is no longer the company Ferruccio started.
Video #1: practicing donuts in Huracan Evo
Video #2: drifting on ice track with Urus
Pretty pictures by official photographer (my photography skills are no where near that awesome):
DIPLOMAT! RAT-A-TAT! FAT CAT! AWESOME!

@Kyeh Drifting is definitely a sport, not sure about ice drifting.

But the ice version, specifically?
@blaineg @hammi99 @Kyeh
Not only is it a sport, it even has its own genre of music to be played (as loud as possible) while drifting.
It is called “phonk” music.

Are you driving or is this a ride along kind of thing…??

No matter how hard I try I cannot get my Lamborghini to drift.
@yakkoTDI haha yes Lamborghini made those in the old days too!
@yakkoTDI Back in my logging days, I used to drift one of these fairly often (but at somewhat lower speed )
@hammi99 @yakkoTDI The old days?
@blaineg @hammi99 Yes. Lamborghini sold their tractor division in 1972. They still make tractors under the Lamborghini brand but it is no longer the company Ferruccio started.
@hammi99 @yakkoTDI Thanks, I didn’t know that.
So if Lambo tractors are another zombie brand, we can expect them to show up on Meh sometime?
@blaineg @yakkoTDI it’s likely it’ll be in an upcoming IRK. And if not, the new goat takes the blame, not me!!
@blaineg @hammi99 @yakkoTDI
I want that IRK.
Rule 34, my friends.
If you can think of it, it definitely exists on the internet.
I present …
Cyka Blyat Ice drifting in a Lada set to Russian Phonk music.
@mike808 Well, I like their music the best.
@Kyeh @mike808 I didn’t think a Lada could even stay running that long!
@mike808 I feel obligated to point out that is not what Rule 34 states. Not that I recommend anyone look it up >_>.
@gnafuthemeh But that Lada is so hot!
This is the epic drifting clip . . .
@hammi99 Well that’s one way to get people to buy more tires.
(And the cliff drift was insane. Just no to that.)
