@rmeden I live in a very rainy climate and I bought a pair of these ten years ago. They’re not the best for walking. I like how snug they are, but as a 5’4" person, the top of the boot rubs up against my back knee bendy part. It’s not the worst. I’ve definitely walked miles in these. But these stiff, tall boots in general aren’t great for walking or even getting in and out of a car, even if you’re taller. They’re of course excellent when the storm drains overflow and you have to wade through a foot of gushing water.
The write-up is obviously incorrect in saying they are “Probably actually bad for hunting” Why it looks as if they were specifically made for that purpose with the included shotgun handle!
Hunter wellies were legit really useful, long wearing boots when I was growing up in the UK countryside. My mother has a 25 year old pair that she’s worn nearly every day.
My bigass feet are too big tho.

Our business sells products internationally via a network of carefully selected distributors and agents and directly to consumers through our own retail stores and e-commerce websites.
@dumb_cookie@mike808 they used to be made in scotland. It wasn’t even that long ago. I got a pair 10 years ago that says MADE IN SCOTLAND and it’s so sexy
@dumb_cookie these are definitely not made in scotland. However, I think they’ll be a decent pair of rain boots, especially if you want something more snug. Rain boots tend to be floppy but these will be a lot better to walk in. For the price? I’d say go for it. I still have my original hunter boots and they’re very practical in really bad weather.
@dumb_cookie Found a few answers through the Zappos link posted by @Kidsandliz. The Zappos site says:
“Hunter products are currently made by supplier factories located in China, India, Indonesia, Italy, Thailand, Turkey, the UK, and Vietnam.
Haley from Zappos on December 27, 2017”
A review states, “Sigh. My first pair of Hunter boots were amazing. Then they moved the manufacturing to China. The fit is not as tailored as it used to be and feels floppy on my legs. I used to walk miles in these - now I’m looking for a different boot.
Anonymous, Zappos Customer, November 16, 2014”
@bjango Thanks, but for now I think I will probably go with the Kamik boots one reviewer mentioned on Zappos instead. They are made in Canada with a focus on sustainability, and I found a pair with similar design on their website for only about $70. I’d need to pay shipping, though, unless I bought another pair as a gift.
@dumb_cookie I’m currently wearing kamik boots! Theyre snow boots, so it doesn’t really compare, but yeah, don’t buy these brand name galoshes if you don’t need em
@bjango@stolicat Working in ER, I’ve seen quite a few snake bites that weren’t stopped by loose clothing.
I know they make snake boots, but I thought maybe these were thick enough to stop a bite.
Saw both the short and tall Hunter boots in Black at Sam’s the other day. They must be dumping stock. I remember when these were only available at the higher end department stores.
@tinkertime I had the same problem with these. You legit need to have very thin legs for these to fit. I have very small feet & have never figured out if these & riding boots have bigger dimensions for the legs if you have bigger feet.
@CaptAmehrican 3 years ago? I’ve been out of the fashion game but I still have a pair I got 10 years ago. They’ve been in storage because I thought they were uncool ha. I guess I’ll just hold on for another few years
@sanspoint I am 5’2" size 6 pants. Don’t know why, but I have always had Schwarzenegger calves. 18’ right leg 17" left leg. Can’t ever get a pair of boots to go on and not cripple me. Except genuine western cowboy boots. The kids under 30 all look at my cowboy boot toes like I got them on another planet.
I am starting to hate young people.
Costco has them for about $10 more in black or green ( that’s the online price which is usually higher than in-store) but you have to be a member to buy them.
I received mine today. Very nice however I had read to order a size up based on reviews.
I am a 7/1/2 and order the 8…way to big
Can i exchange for size 7???
“Your item was forwarded to a different address at 10:15 am on March 19, 2021 in XXXXXXXX, YY. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect.”
The boots arrived today which was unexpected as they were in “processing” as of yesterday morning. Oh, also, they are hunter green. Which isn’t even one of the options. Which seems on brand for Meh.
Got hunter green and ordered red, huge bummer as I didn’t know green was an option. Also the calves are much more tight than expected, they’ll need some heavy breaking in.

@smakahead I was beginning to wonder if I was all alone here.
@TBoneZeOriginal I can spot a HIMYM reference from miles away. You should see me at parties.
“There is no such thing as bad weather, just poorly dressed people.”
Are they made for walking?
@rmeden beat me to it.
@rmeden,…that’s just what they do.
1 of these days these boots will walk all over you!
@rmeden I live in a very rainy climate and I bought a pair of these ten years ago. They’re not the best for walking. @rmeden I stand by my serious reply
Walmart sells kinda expensive rain boots?
These aren’t $19.99 off the shelf?
Huh. Well, who knew?
@f00l zappos has them for $85
Glad to see Meh is serving the promiscuous lesbian equestrian crowd.
Gotta be fashionable when hunting those ladies, ladies!
@mcanavino LE DOLLAR BEAN BOOTS!?
@CozzaFrenzy @mcanavino bean boots and equestrian stuff is gay now? I’m starting to crawl out of my hole but geez, things are different
@bjango @CozzaFrenzy well they’re boots made for ladies, and they’re ‘ladies hunter’ boots; as in people who hunt ladies. So quite naturally…
The write-up is obviously incorrect in saying they are “Probably actually bad for hunting” Why it looks as if they were specifically made for that purpose with the included shotgun handle!
@ciabelle I lol’d.
golf clap.
These Hunter rubber boots are very heavy, and stiff as a board when new; I had a pair years ago and was greatly displeased, donated them.
Hunter wellies were legit really useful, long wearing boots when I was growing up in the UK countryside. My mother has a 25 year old pair that she’s worn nearly every day.
My bigass feet are too big tho.
In which country are these made?
@dumb_cookie Why does that matter? The global supply chain is pervasive.
From the manufacturer, hunterboots.com.

@bjango If these are still made in Scotland, I’ll bite. Sounds like your pair from 10 years ago are still going!
@dumb_cookie these are definitely not made in scotland. However, I think they’ll be a decent pair of rain boots, especially if you want something more snug. Time to reboot.
My wife is a Texas girl, but definitely not a hunter. Now if I got these for another women, my wife would use that Shotgun handle.
“Calve Measuring Instructions” – How to find the width of the birth canal?
Definition of calve:
intransitive verb
1: to give birth to a calf
also : to produce offspring
Whereas…
Definition of calf (Entry 2 of 2)
: the fleshy back part of the leg below the knee
@phendrick
“How to find the width of the birth canal?”
It’s probably going to take more than a forum post to get you a thorough understanding of this.
@phendrick wait… so I am supposed to wear these on my birth canal? At the very least, that will make hunting extremely difficult.
@G1 – I’m not that kind of a vet!
@shubydoo Hey, don’t ask me – I didn’t do the item description write-up!
With a reputation to boot…
Are these snake proof? Anyone know?
@Tadlem43 they are just rubber, so probably not. Rattlesnakes can bite right through that stuff. They’re pretty cute, tho.
@stolicat @Tadlem43 I thought snakes generally bite quick, not holding on. That’s why loose clothing can be enough of a deterrent?
@stolicat
I think garden snakes are cuter, but to each his own!
@bjango @stolicat Working in ER, I’ve seen quite a few snake bites that weren’t stopped by loose clothing.
I know they make snake boots, but I thought maybe these were thick enough to stop a bite.
I would make a comment about these boots, but the last time I commented on boots, it got me goated.
Saw both the short and tall Hunter boots in Black at Sam’s the other day. They must be dumping stock. I remember when these were only available at the higher end department stores.
@mike808
Do you remember what the price was at Sam’s?
@mbimeh @mike808 $75 but out of stock online. They’re the short ones.
“Comes in a variety of different colors,” which is Meh for Red and Navy.
@JustKen Is that similar to the “multi-position switch” on electric items, namely “on” and “off”?
I bought a pair of these recently and am very happy with them.
@shewren7 are they still made in scotland?
@shewren7 No. Made in a number of different countries.
Are these water proof you think?
@rollingupbynow they’ll definitely be waterproof. There are no seams to come apart
ppfffttt when i got some snazzy functional steel toe ones for 12 bucks on amazon? naaah
(though i didn’t realize they were steel toe til i got 'em)
These are on Zappos ($85) with a number of customer questions answered. 4 star rating. Meh must be slipping selling something more then 2 stars LOL
https://www.zappos.com/p/hunter-original-tall-autumn-stone/product/8426300/color/897287
HAHAHA it is “certified vegan”.Yeah rubber. Who knew?
@Kidsandliz lots of shoes have random leather interior soles etc
My “athletic” calves (LOL) are too wide so it’s a pass for me. Would have considered a short pair though, at the right price.
@tinkertime Check your Sam’s. Mine had some short pairs. Only in black, though.
@mike808 Thanks! I had already planned on going there this weekend or next, so I’ll check them out.
@tinkertime I had the same problem with these. You legit need to have very thin legs for these to fit. I have very small feet & have never figured out if these & riding boots have bigger dimensions for the legs if you have bigger feet.
They are excellent and very functional
About 3 years ago they were on trend as well.
I have a pair. Love them . One pair will last a decade or more
@CaptAmehrican 3 years ago? I’ve been out of the fashion game but I still have a pair I got 10 years ago. They’ve been in storage because I thought they were uncool ha. I guess I’ll just hold on for another few years
I’m sure my calves are too big, but also my feet. Stupid 12 W feet.
@sanspoint Yeah, what are those of us with huge calves supposed to wear? I don’t need boots often, but it would be nice to have a pair for when I do.
@lisagd @sanspoint see Women’s Huntress Wide Leg Rain Boots

@sanspoint @TexterTusher
Han Solo vest jacket included?
The calves on these are SO TIGHT I can’t wear the pair I got for my birthday. Make sure you measure!
Their super cute but not $55 cute. I’d never wear them that much.
Dang, size 10 sold out like immediately.
Costco has them for about $10 more in black or green ( that’s the online price which is usually higher than in-store) but you have to be a member to buy them.
Anybody’s ship yet??
@eeterrific
I received mine today. Very nice however I had read to order a size up based on reviews.
I am a 7/1/2 and order the 8…way to big
Can i exchange for size 7???
@susanpippin normally what you buy is what you keep at meh. You would have to contact meh.com/support to see if they can help.
Ordered on 3/6/21. Still waiting. The worst part was, I found them on Woot the same day for $44.00…Ouch
Sigh. And here I thought meh knew all about me…

Yeah…got Hunter Green. Ordered Navy Blue. Woman was not not not happy. At this point…
