@haydesigner, I drink it, but only to have a sort of stable morning routine; a pretty fn boring life, huh¿? Oh Well, It could be a hell of a lot worse, as we’ve seen in the fn news lately!
“liquid Colombian concentrate” sounds like it could lead to trouble
And for cold coffee from the pods I suggest brewing it before pouring it over ice and adding water, but maybe that’s just me. Or is it liquid in the pod?
Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
@pmarin So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell? Blue skies from pain?
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell?
@pmarin@yakkoTDI We’re just two lost souls,
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year.
Running over the same old ground,
What have we found?
The same old fears…
@pmarin, for some reason That makes me sorta feel a wee bit comfortably numb! Maybe, I need some coffee Or, even something a lot stronger that comes outta Columbia!!
@yakkoTDI, I would come over, but ‘Nobody knows where you are, how near, or how far’ [So, maybe if you would] ‘Shine on you crazy diamond!’ JSYK, buddy, I was Not trying to do anything, but throw in a Floyd song, which I enjoy. I played in a rock band in 64-67 & we played Jimi Hendrix, Rascals, Yard- birds, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, even Sam & Dave, etc, etc, so I kinda know my music & lyrics, chord progressions, riffs, & intros. I have 6 six strings, which includes my Fender Start, a 65 Fender Mustang & an autographed guitar from Chicken Foot’s Joe Satriani & have two 12 string electrics, one autographed by the early group, the Zombies. I could go on & on about my acoustic line of guitars, but I hope this shows that I do know a wee bit of that old time Rock & Roll,…but, Please, excuse me if I confused anyone. My Bad!
@1DisabledWarVet@yakkoTDI I’m the drummer for a similar group. We play a lot of the oldies that you mentioned; mixed in with some “newer” goodies from the Wall Flowers, Tom Petty, etc. Plus some homegrown stuff produced right here in the home studio.
@accelerator@yakkoTDI, Yeah, really luv Tom Petty’s [RIP] music! & I could go on & on endlessly about rock, hard rock with Led Zeppelin & heavy metal w/Metallica, and of course, Pink Floyd, but likely this probably ain’t the platform 4 that! I Can always digress & get wound up, but like you, I loves my music!!
You can also pour out one of these pods into a spoon, warm it up over a Zippo (BIC if you’re on a post-Mehrathon budget) lighter, and then mainline it directly into your heart.
Writer: “And in the summer, I enjoy some cold brew, especially in the late morning or early afternoon.”
Steve Martin, 1970s:
I used to smoke marijuana. But I’ll tell you something: I would only smoke it in the late evening. Oh, occasionally the early evening, but usually the late evening – or the mid-evening. Just the early evening, midevening and late evening. Occasionally, early afternoon, early midafternoon, or perhaps the late-midafternoon. Oh, sometimes the early-mid-late-early morning. . . . But never at dusk. I would never do that!
@yeppers which one did you get? I am a fan of the locally made cold-brews in the Northwest and Colorado. But skeptical of this whole “shot” thing seems more like the way they promote energy drink shots and stuff so I’m a bit concerned. And the Decaf, well, that’s just wrong.
@pmarin I got the “6-Pack of JavaHouse Hot/Cold Brew Liquid Concentrate - Columbian Flavor” - I couldn’t justify the price differential of the K-cup shots. I’m hoping they survive shipping.
I have drank this coffee for 2 years. It is the best and smoothest coffee!!! NO BITTERNESS!! Normally a box of 12 pods is $11.99 at Target. This is a deal!
@wenawen@yakkoTDI Stok is the business. I get Stok in preference to making it at home sometimes. (It depends how good the coffee I have at home is; Stok is much better than coffee that doesn’t come from Trader Joe’s but Joe’s Joe light blend is at least as good as Stok.)
I’ll report back on the relative merit of the Columbian 32-oz versus Stok, once it arrives. If they don’t give it to the gorilla Pitney Bownes to deliver, it might get here w/i a month.
@wenawen@yakkoTDI I was looking everywhere for this exact info! I usually buy Stok and i haven’t liked any of the other store bought cold brews so I’m hesitant…but i think i might risk it.
@Mobab I’m from New Orleans. 8 oz cups don’t cut it. Try 24 or 32.
Get better coffee at a better price from CoolBrew.com. 1-liter size is $10.49. To make the same amount with this deal will run you about $12.50.
Get a 6-pack of the Regular or Mocha. Everything else is an imitation of CoolBrew. Been drinking cold brew coffee since the '80s when PJ’s pretty much invented the stuff at their OG Magazine Street cafe.
@mike808@Mobab i may be wrong [again], but I assumed the bad math pupil’s thinking each bottle was One Drink,…I really would’ve loved to see him after he drank a 32 oz jug of that. That Is Why They Call It CONCENTRATE!
I usually make my own, 12oz of some kind of Trader Joe’s pre-ground, steeped for ~24 hours. Then the wife gets upset having a half gallon class carafe in the fridge for a week or more. In for the concentrate.
Bought the large/small cold Brew combo carafes here coupla years ago. Small for tag along large for those times you forgot to make it at bedtime. Works for me.
After sampling various cold brew coffees, it’s just not for me. It tastes flat to me. Turns out I like a little bitterness in my coffee (as I do in my beer).
I try to make my own cold brew concentrate and keep a stash on hand, but it’s messy and slow and sometimes I get lazy. Seems worth a shot for a backup supply.

For anyone that got the concentrate already how did it ship? I know meh has been using different carriers but I am starting to get a little worried with my order still showing processing and expected delivery tomorrow/this week. Hopefully it just means it’ll ship tomorrow with FedEx ground or something.
Mine hasn’t shipped. Still processing and I ordered two! Will be very unhappy if the end Sept expiration is in fact an Aug expiration and packages still not in the wind yet.
Can’t believe that you sold me 36 coffee pods that expire less than 30 days after delivery and that you are still selling them even though they expire less than a week after the promised delivery date. What are people supposed to do with a 36 pack of coffee pods — bathe in them?

Decaf? Eeeeeewwwwwww!!!
I’m one of the rare few that just doesn’t drink coffee.

no. just… no.
“liquid Colombian concentrate” sounds like it could lead to trouble

@djslack From the pictures it looks like a liquid.
@yakkoTDI oh, there it is. Well isn’t that special. And too late for me to edit and not look like a dope lol.
Today I saw my first liquid pod!
@djslack If you boil all the water away, you can snort the crystal residue that remains.
@djslack @yakkoTDI Embracing the regret is what this site is all about. You are among friends. Except for that creepy guy.

How well do any of these compliment stale stroopwafels? Asking for a friend.
@shrewsbury Does this “friend” still have unopened carboard case-packs of stroopwafels?
@shrewsbury do the thing they suggest on the stroopwafel box where you put the wafel on top of your coffee cup, it actually works pretty well
@pmarin @shrewsbury, Yes, I,…I mean, ah, ah,…yes, she does!!
@daleyshow @shrewsbury Not if it’s cold, sadly.

@wenawen How does this compare to Stok or Chameleon cold brew?
@wenawen @yakkoTDI Stok is the business. I get Stok in preference to making it at home sometimes. (It depends how good the coffee I have at home is; Stok is much better than coffee that doesn’t come from Trader Joe’s but Joe’s Joe light blend is at least as good as Stok.)

@wenawen @yakkoTDI @yeppers, yeah, if Pitney B do get it then you would do real good to get it afore this fall!
@wenawen @yakkoTDI I was looking everywhere for this exact info! I usually buy Stok and i haven’t liked any of the other store bought cold brews so I’m hesitant…but i think i might risk it.
@wenawen @yakkoTDI Chameleon’s Pecan flavor is killer. So is their Mexican Chocolate. It has cinnamon notes, but that pecan stuff is pure crack.
Neither is as good as fresh CoolBrew, but when you don’t live in New Orleans, life is hard.
/giphy addicting-taxing-balloon
Not gonna pay $3.19 per for cold brew. I’m out on this one.
@mike808 It’s a 6 pack of 32oz - each bottle makes 64 oz of coffee. The pods are cheaper than your math too. I think you got your $/cup wrong
@Mobab I’m from New Orleans. 8 oz cups don’t cut it. Try 24 or 32.

@mike808 @Mobab That shipping though. I added 1 liter to my cart and shipping cost calculated at over $18. I was definitely interested though.
@mike808 @Mobab i may be wrong [again], but I assumed the bad math pupil’s thinking each bottle was One Drink,…I really would’ve loved to see him after he drank a 32 oz jug of that. That Is Why They Call It CONCENTRATE!
@1DisabledWarVet @Mobab
I redid the math on bottle equivalent prices based on finished drink it produces.
CoolBrew is $3.55 (6x1L+shipping) for the equivalent $3.19 bottle on this deal. I’d still take the CoolBrew over an unknown.
As others have noted, even cheaper to make your own cold brew.
Sure, I have a vitamix and the summer’s just begun.

@Springbank Excellent giphy.
The Ethiopian and Columbian Decaf pods: Contains Natural and Artificial Flavors. ???
A cold Enema? Hmm, Sounds refreshing…
Ethiopian coffee? What’s it taste like? Rice and sadness?
Bought the large/small cold Brew combo carafes here coupla years ago. Small for tag along large for those times you forgot to make it at bedtime. Works for me.
So one pod is like a cold brew espresso shot? … and now it’s a chaser. I’m in.

Yes, have been wanting some new concentrate
/giphy pastel-vulnerable-clam
I use a Takeya quart pitcher for cold brew or use a coffee sock for quart Mason jar cold brew…think I’ll pass.
I almost didn’t buy it if it weren’t for me clicking through the pictures and seeing the cold brew bottles. Seriously why are pods still a thing?
@DrunkCat
/giphy coherent-gruntled-fox
Ok I will play along, but just this one time.
This stuff is pretty good! I was thinking of giving some as gifts, but we’ll probably drink it all.
@mossygreen I am a fan. Crossing my fingers it makes an appearance again soon.
For anyone that got the concentrate already how did it ship? I know meh has been using different carriers but I am starting to get a little worried with my order still showing processing and expected delivery tomorrow/this week. Hopefully it just means it’ll ship tomorrow with FedEx ground or something.
@Potatoboy Mine just arrived via FedEx with all bottles arriving in good condition.
@Potatoboy Mine arrived via FedEx today as well. The box and the bottles are all fine.
@Potatoboy mine arrived today. A little disappointed it expires next month (Aug 2021).
Mix it with ice-cold club soda - FTW combo!
Mine hasn’t shipped. Still processing and I ordered two! Will be very unhappy if the end Sept expiration is in fact an Aug expiration and packages still not in the wind yet.
@Octomeh For what it’s worth, mine came with the promised 21-09-21 expiration date.
@mossygreen cool. glad to hear. hope it’s tasty cuz i got gallons coming.
Anybody’s order ship yet? Mine has been processing this whole time
@BigGut56 yeah, and it’s delicious. I’d contact customer support
@Seeds thanks, I emailed support. When does yours expire?
@BigGut56 I don’t have the bottle in front of me for the exact date, but mid September (I got the juice, not the pods)
@mediocrebot alert me if this becomes available again.
Edit: the concentrate. Fuck coffee pods.
Can’t believe that you sold me 36 coffee pods that expire less than 30 days after delivery and that you are still selling them even though they expire less than a week after the promised delivery date. What are people supposed to do with a 36 pack of coffee pods — bathe in them?
@coxangela it’s a best buy date…dried coffee doesn’t really go “bad”. Also, the dates were listed in the product description…
It is liquid, not “dried” I hope this post helps someone else who would not think to check for an expiration date.
