@JasonToon's December Eucopia box: Gifts
4OK, so I'm slow this time. Definitely @thismyusername is at fault here. Or the fact that the holidays came and went, I got sick (and better!!), and I had a conference in Boston.
@JasonToon's December Eucopia box arrived on Christmas Eve, which was just in time (since we had a pretty simple Christmas this year).
December's box was themed "Gifts". It included the monthly 'magazine' and the monthly passport plus these goodies:
A BEAUTIFUL book British by Luke Pearson:
I'm definitely looking forward to reading this to my son when he's old enough (he'll be 2 years old in April, and doesn't have the attention span to make it through a book like this yet):
This one my wife and I have been debating whether to send along as a gift, or to build it ourselves:
It's wooden bird kit from Finland that you can send as a postcard. Here's the back showing the cutouts:
My new favorite mug:
And some really nice looking Spanish shaving cream. I've been meaning to start using a straight edge razor, so this is my excuse. My neck tends to get some decent razor burn from my electric, so I'm looking forward to this. Any recommendations on a cheap/good setup?
And some tasty (German?) chocolate:

There was LOADS of discussion the last time I posted this box from people like @pavlov @jbartus @djslack @sammydog01 and @studerc and a handful of others. Maybe you all would be interested in seeing last month's box?
@luvche21 I got this box for a family member for Christmas, and it was also very well received. I had some different style chocolates, and I don't remember the wooden cutout card.
All in all, a rather nice box.
Thanks @jasontoon !
@luvche21 I think we should all pretend that thread never happened.
@sammydog01 yeah, maybe I shouldn't have brought that up.....
@luvche21 just waiting on the "facts" so they can be destroyed. And i tell you what...i forgot all about that thread. That was a terrible good time!
In all seriousness though. I really love @jasontoon 's idea here and glad he is able to market something he loves to share that interest with others. As an all but broke teacher this idea is a tad too expensive for me to jump into. Perhaps in the future someone could gift me a month subscription. Maybe ill jump at a box when tax season is in full bloom...or when i win $1.3 billion tonight on my $2 ticket.
@studerc Well, when you win your billion, please remember the terrible good time that I helped you enjoy last time... ;)
p.s. what do you teach? I got my education degree initially hoping to teach band - then realized just how hard it would be to live on the then starting salary of $27K/year, so I went on to do something that I enjoy even more, which happens to pay more as well!
@luvche21
@thismyusername yeah, um, yeah... I'll get, uh, right on that...
