Jackets: Keepers of Lost Goods
8One of the joys of it getting cold again for me is finding something that I haven’t seen ostensibly since spring–but not missed enough to look for–in a jacket when it gets colder again in the fall.
Tonight it was my keychain tape measure. In previous years I have found knives and one time even some little mini stun gun thing I randomly picked up somewhere.
Anyone else find anything cool in your jackets recently?

Nope… Just lint.
Money my friend. Upwards of 5’s of dollars!
@therealjrn
/showme anthropomorphized dollar bills hiding in trenchcoat in closet.
@mediocrebot I’d buy that for a dollar!
@cfg83 @mediocrebot A trenchcoat? You know me too well goat.
@cfg83 @therealjrn Is this you?
@Kyeh @therealjrn Yup.
/showme anthropomorphized goat opening trench coat to show off bottles of wine and fly swatters in different pockets.
@cfg83 @therealjrn Pretty good image; those must be empty plastic wine bottles, though.
@Kyeh @therealjrn Nothing but the best …

Found a 20 in a pair of pants I never wear once. Don’t hardly ever put on a jacket so don’t know if that would happen or not
@Cerridwyn That 20 was from the Andrew Jackson fairy.

@mediocrebot Ok, Andrew gives 20s but takes 100s. Maybe a not-so-nice fairy.
@mediocrebot Ok, I can’t wait.

@mediocrebot that’s better. Those pants sure are stiff. Talk about too much starch! Reminds me of ants in the pants :
Usually nothing more than a kleenex. Sometimes something I’ve picked up, like an acorn or a pretty stone.
@Kyeh
SWMBO is bad about that too. Can’t even tell you how often I’ve ended to with little Kleenex “Klingers” (Klingons?) on my clothes after a trip thru the wash with a pair of her pants.
Jacket?
@yakkoTDI
yeah, I rarely wear one either. I have 2-3 based on actively falling rain/temp that are in sporadic rotation in the winter (end of Dec or so) but the others only get worn if I go away from home where it’s much colder locally. Sad that I don’t get to wear some of them more though.
I usually find lighters and $5 or $10 and some kind of candy. I found $30 in a purse I hadn’t used in a while a couple years ago, that was nice.
Ever since I washed pants with my ID and an opened packet of Kleenex (for the fifth time), I’ve patted down every article of clothing for crap (even if they were going back on tomorrow’s hanger).
@pakopako
Good habit. I do the same and now run a 2nd frisking of SWMBO’s stuff if I’m during the load of laundry…
Usually just gloves.
Sometimes a lost phone number or receipt.
@f00l
Have to admit I have washed a few pairs of disposable gloves accidently left in my scrubs or EMS uniforms over the years.
VERY rarely wear gloves for cold unless I’m actively engaged in some snow related activity. And those generally need drying out when the day is over so don’t end up in my jacket.
@chienfou @f00l I keep a pair of those little chenille shrinky gloves in the pockets of every winterish coat I own. I have heavier gloves for snow and really cold days, but the little ones are fine if it’s just chilly.
@f00l @Kyeh
Not entirely convinced my hands will fit in those!
I have occasionally bought used coats and been surprised by pocket contents.
@brainmist Good surprises? I hope?
@Kyeh Generally used kleenex, so, er. No.
But one had its original purchase tag from decades earlier. And miscellaneous pocket odds and ends.
@brainmist Okay, nothing too extreme. I did find money in a dress pocket from a thrift store once.
