I've got to kill 6 hours in Dallas this Saturday.
2What should I do? I’m flying solo this trip.
I have a half marathon in the morning, and then my next appointment isn’t until 5pm. I figure that we have some DFW locals on this forum and I’m hoping that I might get some good suggestions.
I’ll be back in the Dallas area again in a couple months, so if I can’t do it this trip, I’ll hit it up next time.
Thanks in advance!

@f00l I want to do the JFK stuff, but I think that will have to wait for my next trip. I want to do it right and I don’t think I will have enough time this trip.
Dallas, murder capitol of the South. You can prolly get a lot of killing done in 6 hours.
National Videogame Museum
I’ve never been but I’ve heard it’s neat and on my list for a future trip.

It could be worse. You could be stuck in Oklahoma.
@mike808 Well… Funny you should mention it. As it turns out, I AM stuck in Oklahoma. I’m here for work training and my trip to Dallas is a way to break up the monotony.
@mike808 @Willijs3 Be sure to stop for Fried Pies on your way back to Oklahoma (assuming you are going up I35). Stop at Buccee’s in Denton on the way as well.
@tightwad I saw that Fried Pies place on my drive down. Is it really worth a pit stop?
@Willijs3 It’s a fun stop…check out The Original Fried Pies show at 4503 I-35, Gainesville, TX 76240. Good burgers as well.

Buy today’s or tomorrow’s Meh deal, head up to Carrollton, and ask if you can pick up your order straight out of the warehouse.
Advice from a local? Skip out on Dallas and go to Fort Worth. Much prettier, better traffic, less crowded, and better food. The Fort Worth Zoo is one of the prettiest in the country. If you’re looking for true cowboy, go see the Stockyards and watch the cattle drive. (Yes, it’s by actual cowboys on actual horses)
That being said, if you’re a fan of art and don’t want to leave Dallas, the DMA has got a solid collection… it’s just enormous to try and tackle in a single day.
Pretty much depends on what kind of stuff you’re interested in?
@jcroxmisox
Very nice art museum collections in both FW and Dallas. Dallas does not have the edge here; both cities have art museum offerings of serious worth and high quality.
But I’m not sure the itinerary given will have time for FW.
@f00l @jcroxmisox Yeah, I wish I had more time. I’ll have to make the trip to Fort Worth next time I’m in that part of the country.

Just joking
So… what did you end up doing for 6 hours?
