Now that I know that meh wants me to post pictures, I feel the obligation to catch up. Every now and again, I’ll post something from my store of pictures.
@capguncowboy You take that back! They’re not really mine, though. I was busy encouraging mom to take her kids back to the hidden preserve they belonged in. She’d been headed for the road, and I was pretty sure that it wouldn’t end well.
@f00l That picture was from May. It’s probably cooler today than wherever you are, but that’ll change real quick. Tomorrow is probably back up near 100. I wish I had the magic power to edit. I didn’t mean to leave that extra cruft in there.
We are actually having a “coolish” summer. Not too many days over 100F, cause we had spring rain, even summer rain! No extra water restrictions this year, woohoo!
I am bitching mightily about the heat tho.
Because my auto A/C is weak, getting a diagnostic in the AM. Which means $$$.
Because it’s August and I am sick of it already, and October is soooo far away.
Because we had a family wedding in Santa Fe, I got to spend almost a week, daytime highs about 85F, lows around 68F, and I didn’t want to come home. Los Alamos!
Because in addition just any other reason I can come up with to justify bitching about the heat right now.
Not sure where this statue is from (not China, maybe Malaysia), but it’s NOT small. As I recall, it was about 30 to 36 inches in height. It was interesting, but not so wonderful that I wanted to buy it and bring it home.
@mick Previews don’t seem to here (but I’m okay with that). What I’ve done is post what I’m going to say, save off the text in an editor, add the picture, look quickly to make sure that it’s what I wanted, and then delete it if it isn’t.
Here’s some nice Wallflowers. Yep, that’s their name. They get called that because the cluster against the wall (or around any object, like a stone bench).
@cinoclav my house is on the corner of the main road and a private road… so everybody on the private road mailboxes are there… post office won’t go down the private road… so i get to see everybody get their mail. lol my driveway is also on the private road, so the post office won’t deliver packages to my house either!! i gots to go to the post office to pick them up… and fed ex is doing this thing where they take your packages to the post office to be delivered, and i have to go pick the damn things up!!!
@mick to see a ‘preview’, just click “Say it.”, then you can click Edit repeatedly for up to five minutes, and click “Save it.” when you want to see your edit result.
Guess I’m into eye injury, and purple. I got this from Gee Plus ages ago, from someone who was fond of posting optical things. I named the image “Lilac Chaser” – can’t imagine why. :-}
@Barney Purple is one of my favorites too. :-} These are called Royal Burgundy, and they’re delicious. They lose all the purple when they’re cooked, and are just slightly dark-toned green beans.
@ELUNO oh my!! your bird is delightful!! ok, so… is your bird a he or a she? is it a baby bird? what kind of bird is it? what’s it’s name? do you have other birds too?
@f00l I have a substantial collection of Carnival glass. I find it irresistible. This one’s called Open Rose, and they include a creamer, a sugar bowl, and a butter dish. I think the other one’s a sugar bowl missing a lid. Times have certainly changed. No one makes their own butter, nowadays.
Beautiful.
I have other pets than just sun dogs.
@Shrdlu Aww, you and your baby ducks are adorable!

Here’s another “pet”:
I have no idea where I got this picture from, but it makes me laugh every time I look at it, and I really love laughing.
Moar moar moar.
Looks way cooler there. If I could drag my family and friends, I’d move to someplace cooler.

Here you go, colorful pepper mill:
@Shrdlu edited.
@Thumperchick, you’re magical!
@Thumperchick Thank you very much for cleaning up my post. You know, this thread is pretty image heavy, but no cute baby picture…
I am somehow guessing that fence is electrified. Land mines? Booby traps?
@mfladd No need for electrified fences. Everyone here has met me.
@Shrdlu
A Jehovah’s Witness gator? Cool! Come with literature?
@mfladd Why would Superman fall…?!?
Uh, oh, I created a picture posting monster. Well, bring it on, @Shrdlu. They are quite enjoyable.

October…so far away…
Love the nature shots. Looks heavenly.
Thinking about having a baby? Here you go, questions answered.

@Shrdlu The limit on editing must be five minutes. I forgot to say that the statue was Jade.
this was my flower box at the first of june…
took this picture today… same flower box…
how do you see a preview of what you are posting?? to make sure you did it right???
i need to practice, picture taking… they are not very clear…

@mick I’m more intrigued with the cluster of mailboxes. Are they all at the end of a road?
@cinoclav my house is on the corner of the main road and a private road… so everybody on the private road mailboxes are there… post office won’t go down the private road… so i get to see everybody get their mail. lol my driveway is also on the private road, so the post office won’t deliver packages to my house either!! i gots to go to the post office to pick them up… and fed ex is doing this thing where they take your packages to the post office to be delivered, and i have to go pick the damn things up!!!

@Shrdlu I don’t love purple.
@ELUNO @Barney does.
@ELUNO so does @PurplePawprints
@jbartus Indeed, I do!
@ELUNO
I love purple, but I’m just an amateur.
@jbartus Yep.
@Barney Purple is one of my favorites too. :-} These are called Royal Burgundy, and they’re delicious. They lose all the purple when they’re cooked, and are just slightly dark-toned green beans.
@Shrdlu No purple after cooked? That’s no fun.
@ELUNO oh my!! your bird is delightful!! ok, so… is your bird a he or a she? is it a baby bird? what kind of bird is it? what’s it’s name? do you have other birds too?
@mick Ah, I’m sorry to say the bird isn’t mine… It was just too cool not to post!
@ELUNO Fuck Jimmy Buffet
I love carnival glass. Yes, this is the same pattern, just two different colors.
@Shrdlu
One if my grandmothers had that sort of glass, and it fascinated me. I would just stand and stare at it. (No touching!)
Wish I knew what happened to it. Sadly, gone now.
