I gave up the booze Sept 9, 2017 but an ice cold grapefruit bubbly with your eyes closed is a pretty decent standin to some of my old reliables. I find ice cold out of a can and not too sweet is enough to take the edge off. Keep it in a koozie and your company won’t even pay attention to your increased hydration.
Drinking something cold after work outside when it’s not freezing and dark and the kitties can nose around the walled/roofed deck. Thingy. I don’t think it qualifies as a sunroom.
Why isn’t “All of the Above” a choice?
I’ll also take a Scotch on the rocks, a bourbon with mint, an iced Kahlua, or one of @alacrity’s Margaritas (if it’s not shitty).
I’m bender-neutral.
@Oneroundrobb My home-made kegerator (actually it’s technically a keezer) just went kaput right at the start of the decent weather. It was less than 10 years old. Man, modern appliances just don’t last like they used to.
a deck or even a little balcony is one of the top three things i want back that this current place doesn’t have. alas.
also, since we’ve been quarantining and i’m strictly a social drinker, i haven’t had any alcohol in over a year. so if a deck magically appeared tomorrow, i’d probably be boring and have what i always have, ice water.
but if a deck really did appear tomorrow, i might be inclined to celebrate with a homemade blood orange margarita, with enough to share with whoever built it, of course. chamoy & tajin-sugar-salt rim.
Moscow Mule…Vodka, Cock & Bull Ginger Beer, fresh lime squeeze. Fill a copper mule mug with ice, squeeze a lime wedge over the ice, add 2 shots of Vodka, top off with Cock & Bull Ginger Beer, toss a wedge of lime on top. Ahhh, watch the sun set on the patio sipping an ice cold mule. Can’t wait!
A time to break into the case of the Pedroncelli Rosé we bought here back in February - actually, we already broke into it, but there’s still most of it left.

@show_the_maw Good for you! Keep it up.
I avoid deck drinking season. The nails make me gassy.
@Mack You need a bigger blender. And a sprig of mint.
@Mack @mehcuda67 You should also avoid wall drinking. That can really get you plastered.
Iced tea.
I am from the South. It’s Ice Cold Sweet Tea with a slice of Lemon. Otherwise Bless Your Heart.
Being indoors with the air conditioning.

A cup of hot coffee.
Piña colada.
A bourbon slush.
Sangria.
Ice water
Rain Is the only kind of weather I’ve really tried to drink. It’s OK, but not as good as eating snow.
@mehcuda67 Just watch out where the huskies go…
@macromeh One man’s poison is another man’s snowball flavor.

No deck, but I do have a hammock and a kegerator. Hoping to enjoy many a pineapple kolsch. Also more than a few whiskeys on the rocks.

Ready for some sun brewed iced tea with a little lemon and touch of honey. Not quite there yet, weather wise though.

@accelerator Sounds great - love that Cock & Bull Ginger Beer! (I actually prefer a Dark & Stormy - same recipe, with dark rum in place of vodka.)
I guess whatever my neighbor has available since he has a deck and I don’t.
Having a nice anejo on the back deck or in the pub my fella built under it

@stolicat Yeah, we drank one bottle on receipt to try it, but have been saving the rest for nicer weather - looks like we could get the chance soon!
Daiquiris and Mai Tais!!!
I don’t need a deck to drink, I just need to be awake.
Also I just bought a Bartesian from the recent Amazon sale.
