@tinamarie1974 Certainly better than Snowflake. Her diet is supposed to be 80% fruits and veggies yet she doesn’t seem to like either. Vet prescribed Vitamin supplement to give her the Vit A and C she needs. Will get on both our hands. Does squawk a little when neither of us are in the room. So far doesn’t like the come out of the cage much and shows little interest in playing with her toys.
But she seems happy but different species of birds react differently. Am more convinced than ever that previous environment plays a big part in how the bird reacts to things and what they eat.
@Kyeh She goes in her water dish 3 or four times a week and then I spray her. When I started to spray her, she spreads her wings so I can spray under them and doesn’t move away. So the answer is definitely yes.
@Kyeh Took her to the vet and he gave her a clean bill of health. Since we know so little about her previous history we don’t know if she is still getting settled in or is just a chill bird. Only real issue is getting her to eat the right stuff, but will keep trying as at some point she’ll get used to what I keep putting in her dish.
I find it quite odd that the contrast between her being wet and dry makes her look like an entirely different bird, so much so that I find it difficult not seeing a macaw in the 2nd pic. If you had posted something about your Eclectus and your Macaw, I would have looked at the pics and said “yep. checks out.”
@Doooood Walter my African Grey who we had for 26 years before he died and Snowflake the first bird whom we got from the rescue and had to return for several reasons hardly looked any different when I sprayed either of them. But Princess as you can see looked like an entirely different bird as you observed. Decided it had to do with the type of feather they had.
@cengland0 Yikes - you must have to be very careful what papers you leave out! It’s cute the way this one cheeps as it shreds. That’s not your bird, is it?
@cengland0 Oh! That’s really neat. I guess if you want something shredded, it could be handy to have a bird who does that - just set a pile of documents out for him.
@Kyeh He’s cute but can be very destructive. He will chew through anything exposed such as power cables, network cables, computer chair, couch cushions, my blue office recycle bin, etc. He’s like a 2 y/o child that you cannot leave alone for a second or he will get something and demolish it.
Aawww, how are things going w Princess? Is she starting to settle in?

@Felton10 Nice! She’s looking beautiful in her dry photo, so I assume she’s doing well?

@Felton10 That sounds promising!
She cleans up good!
That was a cute post.
@Star2236 When I saw how different she looked, I said wow-had to share this and think up something funny to say.

@Kyeh Very cute. My bird shreds paper too but just for the fun of it.

@Kyeh The bird shredding the paper in the video is my bird.
The one you hear chirping in the background belongs to a friend and is a cocktail. I was bird-sitting while he went out of town.
My bird, Emerald:
The cockatiel, Punkin, that I was bird-sitting:
