2This makes me want to cry, or maybe move to a 3rd world country with a better post office?

Not related but apparently has the same kind of idiot at the top.
At the top of the page in the dark grey area, click on the link with your tracking number. This will give you the the real tracking info for your package, from USPS.
This is from USPS
not from Mediocre
Fwiw, I’ve gotten the same thing. Seems like at least once it was moving at light speed between bowels and my home town and back.
I wish meh would explain why it appears to go places it hasn’t, but at least know I think it happens to, well, if not everyone, lots of us.
/giphy mulder we’re not alone
The USPS has been politicized by Congress for decades. One of the political parties pushed thru a rule forcing the USPS to prove funding for its retirement obligations at a level far beyond that which any other government or municipal or corporate system or other institution has ever been asked to to. They use this rule to force the USPS to appear to be bankrupt.
If any other institution (Corp, gov, whatever) with a retirement system were forced by congress to use the same funding rules, that institution would also be bankrupt. But congress reserves this special financial torture for the USPS.
This was done in a deliberate attempt to bankrupt the USPS, break its employee grievance procedures, force layoffs, and justify privatizing its functions,
And then certain top appointments have recently pushed the “destroy the USPS” agenda further, and unjustifiably cut services.
This is entirely a long term political ploy.
Left alone, or given a reasonable chance to perform, the USPS would be fine.
The party that wants to take down the USPS seems to forget that the postal system is necessary to our national security. Or they think we’d be better off of all those functions were privatized and sold off to big political donors.
July 31: Leaves Carrollton, Tx
Travels 870 miles
August 1: Arrives Greenwood, IN (166 miles from my house)
August 1-August 26: Hibernates in Greenwood, courtesy of Pitney Bowes
August 27: Delivered Mishawaka, IN
This happens with nearly EVER delivery unless I pay the higher shipping fee.
I have filed numerous tickets for multiple shipments, but never get a real response.
When I print postage through PayPal for first class USPS postage it says Pitney Bowes at the top!
@chellemonkey
Pitney Bowles, among other services, sells various postage franking systems. If you work for a medium or large corporation, they may well use a PB machine to handle postage.
PayPal has a contract with PB to provide postage options to PayPal customers.
12 days??? You sir or madame, are royalty to receive your shipments that fast!!!
I’ve had the same frustration with FedEx when passed off to USPatheticS. I have watched shipments completely circle my state, go back to the place of origin, & set out again, using a different route.
It’s PATHETIC!!!
Actually the powers that be are trying to destroy the postal service to the point that the average Idi er Americn votrer will agree that the postal service needs to be sold to something like Pitiful Bowes or worse LPX Logistics and operated privately in order for service to be restored to that of the time when America was great. Of course it will never get better and service to small markets will get very expensive.
