IRK Totes in the Wild
26The ‘Three Village Artisan and Farmers Market’ near where I live put out a plea for reusable cloth bag donations for customers to use if they didn’t bring their own. I decided it would be a good place to unload donate my IRK tote collection for a worthy cause. I arranged my collection in rainbow-ish order and dropped off 24 of them at the market, which is open every Friday from 3-7PM (I kept a purple and blue one for myself). Needless to say, they were very pleased with the haul. I went back the next week and was happy to see them proudly hanging at the ‘Fat Ass Fudge’ booth. I was told that half of them were already claimed. So if you are on Long Island, NY in the Setauket area, keep an eye out for IRK totes in the wild. Maybe we’ll even get new meh-mbers from the exposure. Or not.

Ummmmmmm… I think the more important part of this is being overlooked. Could you please provide some smaples of the Fat Ass Fudge?

@Barney I had 2 purple and 2 blue in my stash, so I kept one of each. I also had 3 navy, 4 black, 2 tan, 6 orange, 5 red, 3 burgundy/wine and 1 green. I kept an orange one because it had a design on the back that the others didn’t have.

Switched from “pride month” last month, this month can be “Meh-pride month”.(I’m referring to the rainbow of bags for those that didn’t catch it) Love the generosity!
@sicc574 Yes, I was inspired by pride month to arrange the bags in rainbow fashion. I had to improvise on some colors as I didn’t have yellow and the blue/indigo/violet series is a little off. I guess that qualifies as meh pride.
Don’t chew…don’t swallow OK Color me stupid,but I don’t get that
@detailer I don’t get it either. I thought maybe it meant to slosh the fudge around in your mouth rather than chew, but sooner or later you’d want to swallow it. It’s not like chewing tobacco. I’ll have to ask if I go next Friday.

@detailer So I went to the Market today and inquired about the “don’t chew… don’t swallow”. Basically they want you to slosh the fudge around in your mouth to enjoy the rich taste before swallowing it. So basically it should be “don’t chew… swallow after savoring”. Or something like that.
@detailer @heartny It’s kind of dumb slogan; “don’t swallow” sounds like you’re supposed to spit it out!
@detailer @heartny @Kyeh I thought it was a tongue-in-cheek suggestion that had something to do with avoiding a “fat ass” by not swallowing… Turns out they were disappointingly literal, but they make fudge, so they get a pass!
@heartny Well thanks for that anyway.Used to go to Bushkill Falls PA. many years ago.You could watch them make it right there.They would mix and fold it on big chilled marble slabs after cooking. It wasn’t Benihana,but neat to watch.
What I want to know is how to score that many IRKs!

@katbyter Just spend an embarrassing amount of time and money over several years. Simple!
@katbyter Checking my order history, my first IRK goes back to December 2018. Prior to that were the infamous fukos/fukus. While a few were bonus prizes, I feel lucky to have scored this many IRKs not having WiFi, by using my phone or my desktop with my phone as a hotspot. My mobile service isn’t that great, so I guess I’m quick on the trigger, or finger as the case may be.

I’m having a garage sale in a couple weeks and using all my extra bags for people who buy heavy stuff. I’m still keeping a bunch bc I use them all the time. I like the size of them.
I have a bunch of bags so I’m sure I’ll be explaining what meh and irks are a few times.
Hope you charge for the IRK totes you hand out. In many cases, I suspect they’ll be worth more than any of the clutter you unload.
