IRK or Sombrero for @f00l?
0Come on, Meh Deities.
I prob won’t get an IRK. I’m in the boonies. 1 bar or roaming signal, or mebbe as bad as 1x not even 2g.
And this ye olde 6s is clearly needing another battery replacement.
No way I’ll get an IRK.
So send me a sombrero.

Waco traffic sux.
Thanks, Waco, for the too-narrow for 18-wheelers lanes on I35.
Love you too.

@Ignorant
You ain’t giving me a nothing I ain’t already got.

I’m in the boonies too.
Absolutely no cell phone service. Gotta drive two miles down the road for that.
The “high speed” internet can be compared to a hamster on a wheel. It’s rare I can make it through a YouTube video longer than 2 minutes without it pausing.
The only thing we can do here is social-distance.
@hems79
Yeah someone I know is applying for jobs at places that take only internet form applications.
Essential service jobs. He’s qualified.
He lives way out. No fixed wireless. Hughes.net or whatever it is wants big bucks plus a two year contract. And it’s horrible I hear.
He tried applying from his phone but it crashes.
His friends also live in the boonies. Normally he would just go to McD or Fedex with a laptop. But COVID-19.
He’s prob going to rent a hotel room in order to use their wifi and apply.
@f00l
At my local (40 minutes away) McDonald’s, you can still pick up the wifi from the parking spaces. However, that can be frowned upon during these times. Walmarts have pretty good wifi, don’t know if you can pick it up from the parking lot though.
@hems79
I’ll let him know it still works at McD.
@f00l
Well, that was just after they closed their doors. Don’t know how it is weeks later.
@hems79
McD’s wifi is still going. At least during open hours.
@f00l Around here free wifi from the hospitals still reaches outside in select places. Here, for example, the row of cars in our parking lot parked on the back side of the morgue can get it while sitting in their cars. As a bonus there is a grassy strip between that building and the parking lot. There is also a heat pump that someone can sit on. It might be worth driving around with his computer on and a find wifi app on to see what is to be had.
Also if he has a friend with wifi, borrowing their password to be able to use that service’s internet when out of the home service might solve that issue. I know with comcast they piggy back off of any customer’s comcast wifi for people to be able to use the internet anywhere service. Sure he’d still have to drive, but cheaper than a hotel room.
Why all the “woe is me?” from Texas all of a sudden? Where’s that independence and “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” spirit Texas proudly points out to the “libtards” by the likes of Ted Cruz?
Texans gets exactly the universal internet service its citizens voted for.
Just like the healthcare and education systems you have from voting people like Ted Cruz into office to save all that taxpayer money not preparing to deal with Covid-19. Or climate change. Or building an economy for all of its citizens not based on oil or agrarian feudal serfdom dependent on human trafficking for its workforce.
Call your legislators to help you or vote to replace them. Elections have consequences.
You had to make a “two of each” thread. You fucked it up. No sombrero for you!
@ELUNO
Ok. Poor me.
But go look at the inflatable bugs!
@f00l I did! Also, I saw that you did do a two in stock post. Double post in fact. No sombrero for you!
@ELUNO
Nothing quite like being both evil and incompetent at the same moment
