@Ignorant
But is there a way to fix it myself. Or stop it from happening at all. It annoys the shit out of me.
And can I just say taking a pic while trying to hold something up to my shoulder is a real pain in the ass. Which is why I used masking tape. My watch kept going black since it’s past my bedtime, then it wanted my passcode because I had it off my wrist to take the pic because the tattoo is higher up. I tried balancing my iPad near my shoulder. I tried putting the phone up and taking the pic with the iPad. Using the mirror just shows the phone and no date. So I said fuck it and slapped some tape on my arm.
@remo28 my guess is the phone (or iPad) you used to take the pic wasn’t fully rotated to switch the orientation. If you look at the pic in your photos app is it sideways?
@Ignorant I took the pic vertically. Then uploaded it (turning the phone sideways to get the photo icon to show up). But no matter what all my vertical pics rotate. I’d have to test it with a horizontal pic, but I’m pretty sure I’ve had the same problem.
@Ignorant@remo28 I have had the rotation issue. I “edit” my photo on my phone. I don’t usually change anything just touch edit and then save. Then it loads correctly. Somewhere there is a fancy explanation about how phones save photos.
@remo28 if it’s showing vertical in your photos app on your phone then something is maybe stripping the Exif Orientation data when uploaded. You can try uploading to http://exif-viewer.com/ and see what it shows.
1 = 0 degrees: the correct orientation
2 = 0 degrees, mirrored: image has been flipped back-to-front.
3 = 180 degrees: image is upside down.
4 = 180 degrees, mirrored: image has been flipped back-to-front and is upside down.
5 = 90 degrees: image has been flipped back-to-front and is on its side.
6 = 90 degrees, mirrored: image is on its side.
7 = 270 degrees: image has been flipped back-to-front and is on its far side.
8 = 270 degrees, mirrored: image is on its far side.
@Ignorant@remo28@speediedelivery I do a quick edit since I never seem to hold my phone in the correct orientation. Well maybe a quarter of the time. It’s pretty easy too.
@remo28 There’s nothing wrong with using the tape. But that issue is one of the reasons I went with my ankle … relatively easy for me to access for pictures. But I love your fish meh
Guys, guys, posting a watch or a sticker with a date scrawled does not conform to UNESCO Proof of Life Whitepaper 1982, amended 2012.
You have to have a newspaper or the front page of a website that changes daily (hrm? any ideas?) but will continue to exist in the public record (so, again, newspaper is best) to show that the picture could not have been taken before that date, since the front page had not been created before then.
Simply by posting here you prove that you had it no later than today… but you can’t actually predate something via the PoL Whitepaper guidelines no matter what your intention.
TL;DR: None of you should kidnap something for ransom.
Also because for a short period of time meh opened the option for those willing to permanently ink themselves with a meh-related tat to get free irks during each “athon” they host.
After twice getting the repeat scrolling green bar of doom I’m now desperate for this temporary ink (for vein marking) to qualify. And the irony is if I were brave enough to get some real ink I couldn’t donate for 3 months!
@thumperchick
THE ORACULUM sounds dirty
Why do my pics always turn? Is there some way to stop that?
@remo28 seems legit
@remo28 fixed

Wait, I didn’t think it was Thursday yet.
Only 1 min 14 secs left on the countdown on that opening picture and no meh button clicked!
Hurry up man! Don’t let that button go unclicked. Click the button and then take the photo! Please tell me you clicked the button in time.

@stinks If they require newspapers I see a lot of failed hostage negotiations in the future.
@stinks just for you… am i doing this right?
@stinks also, a newspaper isn’t proof of life (warning, potentially graphic content if you click on that link)
@mbersiam @stinks Clicked it anyway. Eww.
@mbersiam Excellent. :^)
@mbersiam DO NOT CLICK LINK.
Good heavens. I read the description and ran.
I guess UNESCO should update the whitepaper to say a video of someone reading said newspaper.
As I age, I am beginning to regret the placement of my meh tattoo in regards to showing a pic every time… feet are ugly!
Why are people doing this?
@lichen because we can
Also because for a short period of time meh opened the option for those willing to permanently ink themselves with a meh-related tat to get free irks during each “athon” they host.
@mbersiam Are they still doing that?
@lichen it is not open to new participants at this time.
@lichen @mbersiam I often ask myself the same question.
After twice getting the repeat scrolling green bar of doom I’m now desperate for this temporary ink (for vein marking) to qualify. And the irony is if I were brave enough to get some real ink I couldn’t donate for 3 months!
@lehigh Make that 3 times with many false alarms on the bar…
@lehigh I take it all back (except the blood donation!)

@Thumperchick
Almost missed it again, the day ran away. Photos of a recent receipt from my trip home to Texas. Hope this suffices.
