Inflatable of the Day 4/20
12Today we feature another RINCO inflatable, none other than the famous Scooby-Doo! This toy was, like most of RINCO’s designs, sold as a carnival item. Scooby was available in at least four sizes, ranging from a petite 17 inches up to a stately 45 inches, which is the example shown in today’s image. All of them have a squeaker, with the smaller ones having it inside their muzzles and the larger ones in a leg. Scooby is inflated using a single air valve on the back of his head, and is equipped with a loop on his back for hanging from the ceiling. This toy is properly licensed by Hanna-Barbera, too. Inflatable Scoob has all of the trademark features of his animated counterpart, including facial expression, squiggly tail, and signature diamond-shaped ‘SD’ collar tag. Scooby was one of RINCO’s more popular toy designs, and though the larges sizes have since been discontinued, the smaller ones remain in production and can be found in various places online and ‘in the wild’ at fairs, carnivals, and trade shows.

His face is so goofy!
@RiotDemon It’s peak Scoob!
Perfect.
@f00l I think they did a pretty damn good job, too.
@PooltoyWolf I love your cool wallpaper!
Or is that a wall-hanging?
@Kyeh That is a full-width fabric wall covering in my mother’s craft room!
@PooltoyWolf Oh, okay! It’s very striking.
@Kyeh Mom says thanks!
@PooltoyWolf
So cute
@tinamarie1974 I totally agree
So are all of these inflatables simply a hobby or do you use them as part of your career? Just curious
@tinamarie1974 They are mostly a hobby, though it would be really cool to figure out a way to work them into a career!
Ruhroh! I love it. I wish I’d known about the big ones when they were available - my daughter is a big Scooby fan.
