@awk have you seen that footage where a pack of hyenas are trying to steal a buffalo corpse from a pride of lions, and the one hyena gets cornered and hides inside the friggin corpse! He dives right in and just chills! The lions are so distracted by the rest of the pack that he gets to chill in a carcass for a while.
@smilingjack Where I used to live that family’s cat, with no front claws, brought down a juvenile hawk, broke its neck and laid it out on the back porch. Guess the cat wasn’t going to be dinner. I was sad for the bird though. The cat had a major divot in his shoulder.
Just think, Buzzards can’t get sick. What would you do if you could never get sick?
@hchavers I’d never check an expiration date again!
@hchavers Which is not to say that they don’t hurl (they do).
✔ Serve a necessary function, but I’m fine with talking about them, especially hyenas, and the crazy shit they do.

@simplersimon I’ve seen the one with a hyena hiding in an elephant carcass.

Or at least their skulls do! PHC! PHC! PHC!
@curtise Unless they are federally protected scavengers.

I now have a 9 lb dog. My view on hawks and birds of prey has totally changed! They use to be interesting. Now they are dangerous.
