I’m getting a service dog through a great organization which provides such things and I know my cat is going to be super jealous. Make everyone jealous and post your pets and why they’re the most Mediocre pet on the forum. GO!
@dwightschrute I honestly don’t know! I will meet the dog for the first time on Tuesday and find out the name and breed. It’s already been in training for 9 months but I have to spend a full month in “handler training” before I get to bring it home as well. I’ll certainly update the post with pics and info.
@Felton10 no, mine is vegetarian just like me. He will eat cataloupe, peanut butter, drinks my smoothies and orange juice, eats potato chips, corn chips, bananas, honey nut chex, grapes, dried corn, papaya, corn bread, waffles, bagels, boiled eggs, apples, and pears. His main diet besides the fresh food is Zupreem Garden Goodness pellets.
@cengland0 We don’t keep Walter locked up in a cage. Take him out in the morning where he makes on his play gym and then give him his breakfast in the breakfast area with us which consists of cantaloupe, fried egg, chick peas, cheese and string beans. Spends half the day there and then back to his cage where he goes in and out when he gets hungry for cantaloupe (actually gets his liquid from them-rarely drinks water) and bird seed (loves safflower seeds and the shell of almonds). For dinner he has a grilled chicken leg although his favorite is lamp chops with BB sauce. We share a banana before I lock in his cage for the night and put the cover over the cage.
His cage is in my office and eventually if I am not in the room for an extended period of time, he climbs down the floor and goes looking for us. He usually ends up in the master bathroom-we have no idea what the attraction is for that area. He loved that area in our other house also.
How old is your bird? As I said Walter is 24. We got him when he was 10 weeks old.
Regarding giving yours cheese, my rare and exotic animal vet (specializing in birds) said to avoid giving the bird any dairy such as cheese or milk products. Also, she said to use pellets instead of bird seed because the bird seed is high in fat which may be good for birds in the wild but not those in captivity because they don’t fly as much.
My bird is a full flight bird and wings have never been clipped. He will follow me all over the house but his cage is in my office where he sleeps at night. If I leave the house to go shopping, I put him in his cage for his own safety but he is out of his cage during most of the day.
He likes to chew on wood so he destroyed my baseboards and door frames. I now get wooden toys for him to destroy that aren’t painted or chemical treated. I get a huge pile of wood chips that I must clean up daily but it somehow gets all over the house anyway. Chips get stuck on socks, rugs, and bedding. I’m constantly pulling wood chips out of cloth materials. He prefers to chew the wood in secret under the couch so that’s where I put wood slats for him.
@cengland0 Don’t give him a lot of cheese-just some shredded cheddar which he loves. Walter likes cardboard to shred=they have these cardboard corragated blocks at BonkaBirds.com which takes care of his destructive urges. Not sure I could handle him flying around. His wings are clipped so he can’t get any altitude, but he can still fly down from the cage or the play gym and land OK. Problem is he doesn’t think he is a bird.
No! No! Not the opossums! Seriously, we don’t see too much of those any longer since we move them outdoors and blocked all of the openings to the house at night.
Here’s our oldest cat (at least 20 years old), who is blind and just last month had a tumor removed from right inside of his butthole. His name is Mario.
And here is the latest addition (Ike), just came to us earlier this year.
Our new(-ish) dog, Ash. He was a rescue that my daughter took in a couple years ago. She had some issues with her work schedule and asked if we could take him for a while mid-summer, but “a while” seems to have become permanent. He’s a pretty good boy, but is mostly deaf which can be frustrating. She had named him Patch, but I like Ash better - since he’s deaf it really doesn’t matter what we call him anyway.
@Ashatash@macromeh I had an entire window box of lawn for the cats. Then they sat in that so much that the grass died due to lack of light. They loved it while they had it.
But what kind of dog are you getting?

@ExtraMedium WOW! Very awesome. Keep us all updated.
DIPLOMAT! RAT-A-TAT! FAT CAT! AWESOME!
@dwightschrute @ExtraMedium yes, pics please!!!
@dwightschrute @ExtraMedium
Congrats! I presume you’ve been waiting a while. I hope your new family is just all joy!
@tinamarie1974 Such a sweetie!
@ExtraMedium thanks! He is a new pup, been a resident of my household for a few months.
@ExtraMedium @tinamarie1974 he’s so freaking cute, Tina! What’s his name?
@ExtraMedium @moonhat Charlie says Thank you! He is a handful. Right now he thinks his name is No Charlie!!
@ExtraMedium @moonhat @tinamarie1974 My dog’s name is Cora Stop.
@ExtraMedium @moonhat @sammydog01 @tinamarie1974 As in “Cora Stop doing that”?
he’s currently not speaking to me because I won’t play with him.
@carl669 Why won’t you play with him? Is he refusing to say “fuck” again?
@shahnm if I could get him to say “fuck”, I’d be the richest person in the world.
@carl669 I dunno. The market for dogs saying “fuck” just isn’t what it used to be. Don’t even get me started on why I know…
@carl669 @shahnm pretty sure my pup says it with his EYES!
@speediedelivery Those eyes!

My jenday conure eating honey nut chex.
@cengland0 ITS A MANGO!

@cengland0 Does your bird eat blue crab claws like my 24 year old African Grey Walter does?
@Felton10 no, mine is vegetarian just like me. I read ‘petsoon’ and thought it was a widespread meteorological phenomenon involving cats and dogs. Maybe something like a less violent Sharknado.
And congratulations!
Have a picture of my golden retriever Aidan mooching for my dinner while I play Animal Crossing.

@PooltoyWolf Chick-fil-A sauce with Mickey D’s nugs? Is that a thing now?
@PooltoyWolf so cute
@PooltoyWolf Do you have all the Halloween recipes yet? I’ve been buying candy every day!
@TrophyHusband I’m blaspheming and it tastes so good!
@sammydog01 I’m trying but not there yet!
Cora says it’s belly rub time. Lucky for her she got some before I discovered she chewed up another one of my Meh rubber Smart Stands. Bitch.

@sammydog01 so cute!
@sammydog01 how can you get upsetting with such a cute face!!
@sammydog01 I call that pose the dead cockroach!

@lisaviolet possums are kinda cute when they aren’t scary.
@RiotDemon Someone on Facebook told me that the joeys, when young, are pretty easy to pick up without gloves, cause they don’t bite.
Don’t believe everything you read on Facebook. The puncture wounds in my finger belied the advice I was given.

I am her chosen Hooman… Say hello to Sundae Belle
She likes to Kick it with her Homie Rogan at the Park!
@salvaje so cute!!!
@brandom Now if she could just tell me where all my socks have been stashed, that would be great!
@salvaje sundae! You are adorable!!
@brandom @salvaje I found your socks. You are welcome.

@brandom @Kidsandliz

@moonhat nope, she’s still in her puppy years. She’s just blondish
Prisma did a good job of making this photo of my dog a bit more artsy.
