I had a bunch of friends there too. Heard it was a short concert. I would’ve gone for Peter Gabriel but I really could not care less about Gordon. Looking forward to McCartney in two weeks though.
@cinoclav It was actually really great. About 2+ hours, no intermission. They took turns singing each other’s songs for a while, which was a lot of fun. While sting was prominent (~50% of the show), it was totally a Peter Gabriel show all the way. Sting came off as a special guest IMO, rather than the full double-bill implied.
@Barney I’ve waited a long time to see him. Figured I’d better do so before he’s no longer around. I remembered tix were going on sale and there was probably a presale starting soon. Managed to grab the presale tix just in time. So, sitting towards the middle on the field at Citizen’s Bank Park. Pray for nice weather!
@cinoclav I saw McCartney in '93 at Veteran’s stadium, having lucked into backstage passes. Got to sit in a private-ish VH1 interview with him. He waved to me when I said, “Have a great show, Paul.” Sat in the first row once the show started. Definitely one of the best concert experiences I ever had.
I’m not much for taking photos at a concert, but I did get a few choice shots. This one has PG in the foreground, and Sting enjoying a moment with the backup vocalist in the back.
@ACraigL At least you splurged for the good tix. Most of my friends were in the grass. I really don’t like sitting back there unless it’s someone I don’t care much for and I’m just there for the hell of it.
@ACraigL In fact, that is one photo that does not suck. It’s really good, even though it makes me fume in jealousy. I shall now go watch footage from Lollapalooza Brazil 2014, Bestival 2015 etc. Tomorrow evening is five hours of Glastonbury 2015, in air conditioned comfort.
Gosh Darned husband, if he were not sick and we weren’t broke, I would make him go to see them in Boston this weekend… amazingly, there are still tickets available!!!
@PocketBrain darn…another thing my husband is going to complain about…first his retirement plan, now losing commodity on the black market…darn kidney surgery! (It was the left one, too!) thus why I don’t have a pair of tix…no left kidney to sell anymore…
I
think Ihate you.i’m there too - NOT, but I’m

@springsteen Looks like an appropriate lesson about jealousy.

Just. Shut. The. Fuck. Up.

@cinoclav Oh, I dunno, middle of July? You may wish for a shower or two – or three.

@ACraigL Sounds like a rather unbeatable experience. Unless of course it was Rush.

So jealous…
Thank you for sharing. (That’s a code phrase. It means STFU.)

This really rankled, until I found the concert has been uploaded to YouTube. I’d still rather have been there live.
@OldCatLady Glad you got to watch that before it was taken down.
@ACraigL Fffffffff…
