Picked up one for the gift closet or for one of my kids.
I’m kind of tempted to get another one, but I’ll hold off and see what the experts here have to say. The reviews on Walmart seem pretty positive though.
I was looking at this on one of the other sites (Morningsave or Side Deal) a week or so ago, it was a few dollars more - reviews I checked out seemed fairly positive for an inexpensive “action” camera, some issues with the short battery time, but at this price looks like a fun buy. Uses the same mounting system as all the Go Pro stuff so I’ve got a bag of accessories that will probably work with it.

Can I attach this to my paddleboard somehow? How do you make actually snap a picture?
Okay edit: helmet mount. Control with phone over wifi? hmmm how does that work when out in the wide open? If I got my phone in my hand to control it, why not just take a picture with my phone?
One pic they have shows it under water… okay, how do you make it actually take a picture when it’s underwater?
After reading a whole bunch of reviews, I finally concluded that when I need a camera with GoPro capabilities, I need to get a real GoPro. Yes, this is less than 10% of the price of one of those. That’s a clue about what you are really getting, and it does not actually come close to chabuduo. If you want a photo toy, okay, yeah, maybe. But that’s what you’re really getting.
This sure looks exactly like the “Ekan” action camera that I bought from Meh a few years ago. Probably the same white label manufacturer. It has worked well for me, and at $24 I’d say it’s a very good deal (unless you already have one…) and even then, I’m considering multi-angle shots now…
I just got mine and it looks like I need to have an SD card to do anything with it. I only have an ancient 2 GB card laying around, and although it said it was too slow, it did work.
The device says it only takes 64 GB cards, so there’s that.
For the price I’m really surprised, it seems to be well made, at least on the outside. I don’t really care about quality of picture at this point. I’m just experimenting to see if I want to spend the big bucks for a Go Pro.
We just received ours and thus far meh never fails to disappoint. Seems you can only take videos of 3 mins. Also, the waterproof case distorts the picture and video so much is kinda worthless. I got this so my kid could play with it on our upcoming trip to Hawaii but without buying a new case, it’s garbage. Maybe we got a bad case? How could that plastic distort the picture so much?
Update: it will take videos longer than 3 min at a time. Not sure why I thought that. Maybe from Amazon reviews.
The distortion through the case is real though. All the case plastic looks perfectly clear except for the square in front of the lense. That piece looks all hazy. Tried to clean with microfiber cloth with no luck. It almost looks like that is a replaceable part. Anyone know where to get a new one?
@jayman007 I don’t have one of these, but from past experience with other photo and video equipment, there is often a protective film placed on the area in front of the lens. Have you checked that the distortion and haze isn’t due to one of these still left in place?
Question for those of you who got this and have figured out the features. Why does a picture of a lock followed by some >>>>>>>>>> and another lock keep popping up on the screen?
Also, seems like it doesn’t perform very well in places that aren’t perfectly well lit. I bought this to record my band’s practices and gigs to save my phone battery and yesterday I took it to practice and had it on a tripod in the driveway pointing toward the garage and since it was less lit in the garage than outside you couldn’t see anything. Add on top of that the weird lock screen that kept popping up.

My son has been asking to make You tube videos so I hope this is a perfect beginner option for a cheap price.
I guess I’ll find out soon.
@robthedude05 I was thinking the same thing for my 7 yo.
I mean, it takes pictures and I’m less worried about destroying it than my phone so

For the price of an SD Card, what can go wrong?
@katsuronishi You must be buying expensive SD cards.
@werehatrack the 256gb kind

@Joedetroit The waterproof case has “pass through” buttons that let you use it while it is in the case.
(I typically set it to record video and strap it to the end of my sunfish boom to capture the action, but you could use it for photos.)
You win again, meh. proverbial courageous sausage :

@Fuzzalini Storage supports micro SD cards up to 64GB capacity (not included)

Ok… I’m an idiot. I’ll own that. There was a removable film that was causing all the distortion. One I removed that, looks good now.

@jayman007 Looks like you found it as I was typing that reply.

@jayman007 I love the review progression.
@jayman007 I had the exact same experience- I was sure it was all scratched up until @valkyriered pointed out the film

I used it to make this video. Don’t judge audio, it is from a crappy bluetooth speaker :
