@culmac The term A19 is used to describe the overall shape and dimensions of a light bulb. It has been used since the era of incandescent light bulbs, and now CFL and LED light bulbs continue to use the same term. … An A19 bulb, therefore, has a diameter of 19 divided by 8 inches, or approximately 2.4 inches.
@cengland0@culmacTL/DR; Yes all standard A19 bulbs have the common screw base that Americans are used to.
After “A19” had become synonymous with Edison Medium base in common usage, the standard was updated to explicitly add that A19 bulbs must have that particular base. Now commonly known as E26 or E27.
@cengland0@hamjudo Ever change one of the old English bayonet socket bulbs? If you don’t have a good grip on the bulb it might go Poing! from the spring tension.
@ahacksaw This lamp is preferable to me because you put whatever bulb in it that you want to. Slap a 40w, 60w, or whatever equivalent LED bulb you want in it. Kinda like all more traditional lamps work.
@ahacksaw I think that’s why they specified A19 bulbs. I don’t believe there’s an A19 bulb that’s more than 100W. At least I couldn’t find it online. If they were being weaseley, they would have put “fits bulb with E26 style base.” The E26/27 base can have almost any shape bulb. There are some sodium bulbs with an E26 base that will melt a normal lamp if you use them. Saying A19 kind of narrows the available selections.
@bm13084@jchilders235@donwillis not all led bulbs are compatible with every dimmer. You might have to use a traditional incandescent bulb out a different brand led.
@ChrisMacG Did you ever resolve the flashing blue light issue? At this point, I just need to use it as a lamp… but I’m concerned about it being faulty wiring.

@stinks She obviously is looking at a text from Anthony’s weiner.
@stinks the relative size of the lamp
@Pufferfishy Ah there’s now a new image of it underwater. Or maybe I’m supposed to try that?

The search results on this are wild. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=IH-QI6072W&t=ipad&ia=web
@anthonybramante Meh is the top result now.
@anthonybramante @DoctorOW meh is the only result I get
What’s the max lumens on this (A19 bulb)?
I thought this was an iPod on a stick…
Will this charge devices only when the light is on?
@JT954 This is Meh, so chances are very high.
Mehigans not charged by this deal…
What about Airfuel? Oh, that is what the USB port is for.
I’m thinking these would be great for hotel rooms or dorms.
@PooltoyWolf Yea, but white?
@alanv73 Because Apple. Lol

What is an A19… is it a standard base bulb that we use in the US?

Does it use a regular bulb?
@Poopy: Yes. A19 is a regular bulb.
Maybe if it was $19 I’d grab one…
I was just about to buy this until you nagged me to go vote. Anybody who needs to hear that at this point probably shouldn’t vote.
@IAMIS lots of people still haven’t voted. I’d say it’s a good thing if that reminder gets one person to go vote.
Although I do wonder if people who shop on meh are the type to have the best judgement in life
I actually need a new desk lamp, but “light determined by bulb” seems like weaselly product speak for “emits very little light.”
@ahacksaw “light determined by bulb” is literally how every lamp works.
@ahacksaw This lamp is preferable to me because you put whatever bulb in it that you want to. Slap a 40w, 60w, or whatever equivalent LED bulb you want in it. Kinda like all more traditional lamps work.
@go_robot_go Sure, but most lamp descriptions tell you the max wattage or the recommended wattage. That this one doesn’t seems weaselly to me.

Why doesn’t it have a speaker in it?
Meh, the one they are comparing it to is more aesthetic. This still feels 15 dollars more than it should.
A traditional charging lamp, just like great-grandpa used to have.
Science!
Mine buzzes when the light knob is turned on and changes buzzing frequency with knob position. Anyone else experience this?
@donwillis yes. Try a dimmable bulb.
@donwillis actually, yeah… I was hoping my first two were an anomaly cuz two more were delivered today and my wife can’t stand the “noise”
@jchilders235 it’s happening with phillips hue bulbs for me… buh. damn.
@bm13084 @jchilders235 @donwillis not all led bulbs are compatible with every dimmer. You might have to use a traditional incandescent bulb out a different brand led.
Mine has stopped charging my phone. Now the blue light just blinks all the time.
@ChrisMacG I have two of these and one of them the blue led just keeps blinking. It will sometimes charge but most of the time it doesn’t.
@ChrisMacG Did you ever resolve the flashing blue light issue? At this point, I just need to use it as a lamp… but I’m concerned about it being faulty wiring.
Yeah. This was pure trash. Never worked. Light would flicker did not charge my phone and it looked like a 30 dollar a night motel light.
