That network cable (ds3’s it would appear) pic is shoddy work. Zip ties are used when it should be wax string or Velcro straps, and on top of that the eye hole is facing out, not hidden facing in. The runs are not properly spaced before going to the dsx panels either thus making repairs MUCH harder to one cable. There is good symmetry aligning the cables within the bundles however.
@michaelahess Those are SDI cables in a television studio. The integrators who build these normally zip tie them. They’re not something that are really supposed to be moved again once installed. When it’s time to decommission the equipment it’s not uncommon to just take shears to the cables as close to the connections as is reasonable. Those BNC connectors can be a real pain to work with on a frame like that, even if you have a tool.
@michaelahess I call complete bullshit - anyone that has ever tried to cable manage anything with a density like this knows that this is a fucking incredible feat right there. It’s Holy Grail level work.
Why would you use Velcro on something that only needs access on failure? I could snip all those wire ties as fast as you could pull Velcro.
Further - I would MUCH rather have the eye holes (as you call them) CLEARLY visible - anyone that has reached inside a cabinet where they are hidden for aesthetics and cut the living shit out of themselves on the hidden, razor-sharp edges is again nodding in complete agreement with me.
@jqubed I helped move a bank across Connecticut (18 months in the planing, 3 days for execution) there was nothing as satisfying as cutting hundreds of racks of cables. A lot of it was fiber, but still…
I will say it wasn’t nearly as fun removing all the “stumps” and putting in the new cables
@Pufferfishy You don’t use zip ties, ever. If one cable must be fixed, I’m NOT going to redo the whole mess. You leave enough room to fix things without tearing everything out.
@michaelahess Yeah, I never use zip ties and I hate when people cut them and you scrape your arm or hand on them while you’re in the wiring closet or rack. Ruins your day.
@RedOak Who has time to wait for the puny motor to raise it half an inch and then I have to pluck it out with 2 fingers? I would prefer it to be spring loaded and the eject button makes it shoot 2 feet up so I can quickly catch it in midair and go!
As someone who has had to replace a bad network cable in the middle of an OCD-like bundle like the one pictured (of my own doing), I also cringe at that thought, and it’s not even my network cabling…
@Thinkerer I really love this picture. Even though if it were Ethernet cable it would be a pain to troubleshoot, I love it’s beautiful symmetry. The purple is a nice touch.

It looks like they’re recharging a lightsaber.
Is there a knife in there?
Ejectable battery is a joke
@Stallion Don’t think I’ve heard that one
@Stallion Eject the core before it goes critical, Geordi!
iMeh
Does the tube hold or crush candy corn? Otherwise I have no use for it.
Yeah! the Meh-a-thon tonight! I had a lot of coffee, and I’m ready!

C+ unsatisfied
@michaelahess Get a life dude.
@mellowirishgent yes having pride in ones work is the anti thesis of having a life.

@jqubed good to know, looks just like voice ds3’s I’ve done in the past.

I thought the demonstration video on amazon was going to be of the Rubik’s cube bot. I’ve just decided I need one. I was disappointed.
It’s like they went out and purposely built one thing that did a mediocre job doing two things that have nothing to do with each other.
Bluetooth speaker with a hardware reset button is not a good sign.
WATTAGEzzzzzzzz>?
@mellowirishgent wattage you expect from meh?
If you want to see the magical battery eject process, check out the video (last “image”) on the Amazon page linked in the above specs area.
You push a button and the lift looks motorized?!
@RedOak Who has time to wait for the puny motor to raise it half an inch and then I have to pluck it out with 2 fingers? I would prefer it to be spring loaded and the eject button makes it shoot 2 feet up so I can quickly catch it in midair and go!
KuoH
@kuoh yah, who finds a 2,600 mAh useful - but that action is still cool.
Dang. Wrong item.
How many actual speakers are in this thing? What size are the cones?
@G1 Cones are important.
@therealjrn Is that goat your sister? Can you introduce me?
Rather buy an Oontz 10 watt stereo speaker for the same price on Amazon…When a speaker’s main selling point is a removable battery it’s probably not a good sign, lol…https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010OYASRG/ref=psdc_7073956011_t1_B00U7G31SA
@fastharry the oontz is awesome for its size and price took ours down to obx and it was great by the pool or in the kitchen or by the beach
@blndfayth yep…and for 35 bucks they make a bigger one…which is what i am going for…
Not cool its only wednesday and u made me think it was friday…
a 2600 mAh power bank will only give you 30% battery life
Is the description correct that it will connect over NFC? That seems kind of odd.
@Fodder650 (Android) Why does that seem odd?
I don’t play with too many of these speaks. I see plenty of bluetooth audio but NFC is very short range and I didn’t know it carried audio.
@Fodder650 I don’t think it does, man. The NFC is for the initial pairing of the devices.
As someone who has had to replace a bad network cable in the middle of an OCD-like bundle like the one pictured (of my own doing), I also cringe at that thought, and it’s not even my network cabling…
@bakerzdosen Snip it out. Replace with new cable. Tie to outside of bundle. Done.
Also - I would use a different color cable to drive the OCD mildly insane.
At least it’s bigger than a golf ball. Looks like it’s worth a shot.

@Fuzzalini Check out the link in Reddit above the picture - endless pages of this stuff.
@Thinkerer I know! I fell down the rabbit hole for a half hour! I had to close it so I could work.
Battery eject is so satisfying. Kind of like the gear selector in a Jaguar -
@marlinmay I am pretty sure something like that in the new jeeps is what killed that star trek character.
This is an awesome system!! Can I order another???
@vjorgenson You sure can! It is available on meh’s sister-site morningsave.com. Ta-Da!
