If you have the coin, and I didn’t before I was in my 50s, go with musician monitor in-ear 'phones. I’m never going back. Cheaper than $700 items and better sound.
The only headphones I use are for gaming, so I go for high end surround sound headphones with a boom mic. Current brand is Razor. I have used Corsair in the past as well. I am not a brand loyalist.
@infornography Buy a quality headset and an independent microphone. I use Sony 1000xm2 and an Antlion microphone. I also have a Snowball. Gaming headsets are usually pretty crap in both categories, but they have neato RGB lights.
@goldnectar I love having surround sound in a headset. The mic may not be as good as a dedicated one, but it is good enough, being able to tell how far in which direction a shot came from is worth it.
No noise cancelling headphones. Real men cancel their own noise.
Nope, not going to participate in your no-cost market research. Besides, that answer is one of my bank security questions.
But I could be bribed…
I go with the best, Bose, and I am willing to pay for the best.
@hchavers, lmfao, Bose is not the best. They are over-hyped and over-priced.
@DavidChurchRN @hchavers They are a marketing company. I guess it worked.
@hchavers Sony has the best overall NC Headphones because they have better sound, but Bose noise cancelling itself is the best.

@Evansdoor Congrats on discovering earplugs with built-in speakers.
I don’t use headphones where there is so much noise I need to cancel it.
Cancel culture is running rampant!
@nayten It’s gone too far! lol

Something cheap, because my hearing’s shit anyway.
Whichever ones someone ELSE is gonna buy me bc I’m not spending that much money on some headphones.
Pink cat-ear Razers, thank you very much.
