@therealjrn I have not. My brother has (when he was 14 I think). He had to be flown to the hospital after being hit by a car.

@lichme Ouch. Not the best way to get a copter ride. I hope he made a full recovery?

@therealjrn Not really. He ended up with a broken neck, ribs, leg, and a paralyzed arm that still doesn’t function. The hospital didn’t know his neck was broken until two weeks after the fact.

Also, he was technically dead for about 5 minutes. After he got hit, he was thrown like 50 feet into a ditch filled with water. Luckily he had a friend with him who was able to flag down a police office that was passing by.

Recovery took years. All because some asshat decided he wanted to pass on the should to make a pizza delivery in time.

The asking for sympathy… That reminds me of the athlete that raped a girl behind a dumpster. Everyone was asking for a lighter sentencing so that they don’t ruin his athletic career. Some people should just be sentenced to rot.

@lichme @therealjrn wow only 3 months and 18 months of lost license? That seems I dunno sort of light for what happened? I mean sure murder wasn’t involved but the driver intentionally ignored traffic laws, and for the most part ended someone’e life for a pizza. Did you guys sue him or the pizza company for anything?

@tnhillbillygal A (really awesome) former woot employee @adq was the one who got started me on Wootstalker technically. Reception has been great for the most part. I’ve worked with many of their employees directly on projects, and at one point I was in discussions with them to work there.

They’ve featured my site in some live streams and directed people to use it. If they have any issues with it, we get it worked out pretty quickly.

@lichme I bought that cold coffee thing on meh too, and tried using it the other weekend. I didn’t see what the difference was from just taking leftover cofffee and pouring it over ice. What’s the deal with it?

When I was little, up until about the time I started kindergarten, I used to come out of the bathroom after a #2, bend over in front of my mom while giving her a good view, and ask her “Is my bum poopy?” Luckily I stopped before I had to ask the teacher.

More recently, a few years back, I was outside a restaurant hanging out with some family… uh oh…

Ran into the bathroom doing everything I could to distract myself. Closed/locked the door, dropped trou, got (almost) into position, then BOOM.

2 rolls of paper towel later, and everything was all good.

@therealjrn @Barney I am not a US citizen, and therefore cannot vote in the “big ones”. My permanent resident card actually expires next year.

@lichme Um, how can a “permanent” resident card expire? What do you have to do to renew it?

@Barney Pay a bunch of money, fill out some application forms, possibly go in for another interview

Or I can pay even more money, fill out some more forms, and take a test to get citizenship.

@Barney @lichme born in canada too. . moved here when i was 8. in 1968. i liked having duel, options ya know. but, i’m an american! and i never wanted to live in canada again anyways. so finally in 2000, i went and got my citizenship, so i could vote. so some forms and a test and money… i think under 500 bucks? and you have to go to a fancy ceremony where you renounce your born country. you get a special papers too. unless you want the option to live back in canada? you should just go get your citizenship.

@therealjrn Canadians who have been expats for over 5 years aren’t allowed to vote since 2011. There is a supreme court ruling pending to change the laws.
